so....Mr. French thinks he could be a “solid to excellent pick”, and yet he is going to whine about him?

Amy Coney Barrett will be RBG’s replacement.

In the words of the Alt-Right, French is a “cuck.”

He laments Kavanaugh as the “safe” and “establishment” pick, which is very ironic as French is a poster-boy never-trumper who has promoted the safe, spineless, non-conservative, RINO establishment point of view since the day Trump came on the scene.

Can’t really even handle the irony of David French talking about this pick not being Trump-y enough. Smh.

Did it occur to David French that one of the following was a major factor here?

1. Did Barrett even want the job at this point in her life?

2. Doesn't Kavanaugh's lengthy track record give him a big edge in terms of reliability and predictability?

David FRENCH? The Nevertrump Neocon???

The fact he doesn't totally hate the Kavanaugh pick is concerning.

President Trump is privy to information that almost nobody else is. And he has access to astute and experienced advisors for the asking.

This is a man who almost always plans far ahead so his strategy is usually not apparent in the beginning.

I don’t think there is much room for criticism here.

While I ageee wholeheartedly with David French about Judge Barrett he’s failing to see the political reality that many of us realized last night. The GOP only has a two vote advantage in a 51-49 Senate and at least a half dozen Republicans can’t be trusted. Judge Barrett will eventually be on the court, but she would most likely have been defeated this time around. The political situation in the Senate will be much better after the November vote!

Kavanaugh worked in George W. Bush's presidential campaign, was a member of his administration and was nominated to the DC Court of Appeals by Bush.

Those don't look like the earmarks of a surefire conservative vote on the SC to me. We've been burned repeatedly by "moderate" or "safe" conservative judges who turn out to be big disappointments once confirmed. Sandra Day O'Connor, Anthony Kennedy, David Souter - hopefully Kavanaugh will not be another one.

Maybe I’m missing something, but I just never got the hype around Barrett. I still have no idea where she stands on much of anything outside of abortion.

I can just imagine Frenchy whining if it had been Amy Barrett Comey, how Trump would have stupid to nominate someone who had no chance of being confirmed.

You just can’t win with the Never Trumper crowd. This conservative has no regrets about last night’s pick.

And I am so tired of this “any Republican president would have” argument from the Never Trumpers. They claim that re: the economy and world affairs and deregulation and now SC Justices.

While W tried to slip Harriet in on us, to go along with Roberts, Poppy gave us Thomas, but also Souter. And even Reagan had an uneven record, with both O’Connor and Kennedy to go along with Scalia.

God help us even pondering whom McCain or Romney would have named.

It is looking like Trump is going to go 2-2 in his first two years as president.

I also see it as an opportunity lost but for a different reason. When will we have a president break the stranglehold the Harvard-Yale-DC elite has on the court? I long for some fresh voices and perspectives from elsewhere in our vast, wonderful country to serve on SCOTUS.

If some of the information that I’m finding concerning Brett Kavanaugh is correct, then I don’t share Pres. Trump’s enthusiasm for Kavanaugh.
Abortion

For now, I’ll have to be content with the fact that Kavanaugh was vetted by Trump.

Corrections, insights welcome.
