President Donald Trumps Supreme Court nominee, Judge Brett Kavanaugh, is a 53-year-old former aide to former President George W. Bush. He has served on the D.C. Circuit Court since 2006, and he clerked for Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy. He also worked with Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr on the investigation that led to former President Bill Clinton's impeachment.
While some liberals say he's too extreme, most conservatives seem pretty content with the pick the president among them. Speaking to reporters this morning, Trump was optimistic about the upcoming confirmation hearings and said, Kavanaugh has gotten rave reviews ... from both sides.
Jim Braude was joined by Renee Landers, Suffolk Law professor and constitutional law expert, and Kevin Martin a partner at Goodwin Procter, who clerked for Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. They gave their take on Trumps nominee....

Too extreme = doesn’t legislate from the bench.
"Justice Elena Kagan, who before being seated at the Court served as the dean of Harvard Law School, hired [Brett] Kavanaugh to teach at the school."
That is one sentence both liberals and conservatives may not like to read.
Probably turn out better than Kennedy or Roberts, but who knows?
Karl Rove was the #2 guy at the White House as Deputy Chief of Staff and Kavanaugh was about the #6 guy and worked for Rove. I’ll bet I could find pictures of your boss being friendly to you if I knew who you were and visa versa. Right?
My boss was not the architect of open borders.

Since I don’t know your identity I can’t verify that. So everyone who worked for FDR is responsible for the Japanese internment camps and everyone who worked for LBJ caused Vietnam?

I said I thought he would probably turn out better than Kennedy or Roberts, but who knows?
I hope he is on our side.
Too many of the Bush people are not.
We are losing our country.
According to what I heard earlier, he was hired as their token conservative - so don’t read too much into this.
