No records of the small business Senate candidate Jacky Rosen claims she built(NV)

Earlier today I wrote about the tough map Democrats are facing in the Senate. One of the places where Democrats hope to unseat a Republican incumbent is in Nevada where Democratic Rep. Jacky Rosen is challenging incumbent Sen. Dean Heller. One of the qualifications Rosen has repeatedly cited as part of her campaign for the seat is that she built a small business as a computer programmer which her campaign claims she ran between 1993 and 2002. But Monday, when everyone was focused on President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, the Reno Gazette-Journal reported that there is little documentation from any source to back up Rosen’s claims about her business:

I'm sure the reno gazette urinal simply missed the info. Heller ain't my most favorite but, we certainly don't need another dem senator from NV. Kat mantos cortez (or is it the other way around) and harry reids input is plenty. Nose holding time yet again.

She says she ran a one-person company...which might be true. But so far, no proof.

She can go hang out with the “girl from the Bronx” who lived in West Chester most of her life and the fake Indian professor, they can create a club together.

There would be records of a business license.

UNLESS SHE WAS WORKING ILLEGALLY UNDER THE TABLE AND NOT PAYING TAXES TO THE STATE OR FEDS......................

Yeah, could be. Seems pretty easy for her to prove. Just produce her tax returns where she reported her self-employment income. That would put the questions to rest.

I’m sure she’ll happily provide her tax filings for this highly successful one person business.

What with the burdens the Halfrican placed on small businesses (and other businesses), there should be a mountainous paper trail of her alleged business.

She would have had to file numerous state apps and forms, maybe local and regional apps......
not to mention the IRS's stranglehold on businesses that she would have had to deal with.

The absence of such documentation is indeed strange.

She says she dealt with computers? Okay---let's get the FBI's Cyber division to look into it.

She says that was over 20-odd years ago, and that paperwork is long gone. Most folks I know....will keep business records going back to twenty years, but I doubt that they’d go past that point.

What she says is that she was a one-person computer consultant. I knew people like that in the 1990s...building web sites for folks as a one-person company and easily clearing $200k a year. By 2000, heavy competition came along and you had high school kids who could do the same work.

Heller voted to give the Democrats a permanent majority when he vote for Rubio’s Gang of Amnesty bill.

If you were a contract programmer working on a Sched C or with a sub-C corp in Nevada, you probably wouldn’t have to file much of anything. Nevada does not have an income tax.

If she made any money she had to file taxes. If she made no money, it wasn’t really a business.

Her business dissolved in 2002 before the ONE took office.

But she should have reported the income on her and her husband’s 1040 as other income.

So she should release her tax returns for the period if she wants to impress the voters with her business acumen.

Probably both.

She is exaggerating her business experience (lying). And she and her husband never reported the income from the programing she did (tax cheat).

If she was a Republican and Obama was in office there would be a tax auditor on their doorstep tomorrow.

Yeah, so who do we pick? Worse or worser. No way can we give them an opportunity to control the senate any more than they do now.

She says she filed taxes...but this goes back to the early 1990s, so you don’t have to maintain records to today (she has a point on that). Most folks I know who were doing this kind of work at the time....had contracts and made a fair amount of money, with tax issues that followed later because they did a lousy job of noting expenses. That may explain why she doesn’t have records now or want to admit that she fell into some tax issues later in life.
