Voters in Red states w/ shaky Sen. Dems: Confirm Trump pick

A new poll shows that voters in battleground states represented by vulnerable Senate Democrats decisively want President Donald Trump’s nominee, Brett Kavanaugh, to replace Anthony Kennedy in the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS)...

The poll conducted by the Tarrance Group between July 5 and 8 revealed that voters agree by a decisive margin of at least 12 percent that their senators should confirm the SCOTUS appointment Trump announced Monday night. After explaining that the U.S. Senate will vote on the president’s appointment to replace Justice Kennedy, it asked voters, “Do you think Senator [Nelson, Donnelly, McCaskill, Heitkamp, or Manchin: depending on the state] should vote to confirm President Trump’s appointment to the Supreme Court?”

And here’s what voters from the five Senate battleground states said:

•Florida – 56 percent yes, 44 percent no

•Indiana – 56 percent yes, 44 percent no

•Missouri – 57 percent yes, 43 percent no

•North Dakota – 68 percent yes, 32 percent no

•West Virginia – 59 percent yes, 41 percent no

This advice to confirm Trump’s SCOTUS nominee goes across demographic lines – from gender to political preference.

“While there is a gender gap, women across all five states remain at 53 percent ‘yes,’ while fully 65 percent of men agree,” the Tarrance Group’s T.J. Martino explained in the poll results. “While the response is more polarized by partisanship, voters who identify or are registered as independents hold at 59 percent ‘yes.’ Similarly, a 55-percent majority of self-described ‘moderate’ voters agree their senator should confirm President Trump’s pick.”

According to Dick Durbin, time to toss Red State Democrats out of office than let Kavanaugh be seated on the Supreme Court.

Brilliant!

[toss Red State Democrats out of office]

First time I’ve agreed with SEN. DURBIN.

The Dems are, as usual, just posturing for their low information voters. Chuckie knows this, and is just saying this stuff for media consumption because he is powerless to stop the nomination.

Most of these Rat Red State Senators will vote of confirm at the end of the day. Everything up to the vote is just theatre.

Ideally several Red state Senators will roll over and vote to confirm, and then get kicked to the curb in November anyway.

I think she goes no matter how she votes. When I left North Dakota in 1988, she was already making a career of running for office. The gist of her pitch is (1)I'm a woman, (2)I'm nice and (3)I survived breast cancer. Plus the unspoken accusation that if you don't vote for her, then you are sexist, unsympathetic and don't want the "moderate" Democrats in North Dakota to have any representation.

Before North Dakota became wealthy from oil money, that shtik was good enough to get elected because the mushy middle felt Democrats were more effective at bringing home pork to the state. I'm not so sure it works that well anymore.

They did even bother polling (or at least mentioning) Alabama. Is Doug Jones already a solid ‘no’? I assume he knows he’s toast in 2020 either way, so he probably doesn’t care.

If the vote isn’t until the fall, the media and libs will have plenty of time to try to change that.

I’m sure Trump will fight back, which is why I love him.

When the Dems politicize the courts it’s the voters who run the show, not Chuck Schumer.

i thought schumer wanted the red state dem senators to fall on their sword.

Knowing the dems, they already have a set of high profile / large pay for little work jobs ready for the possible losers.

Red State dems vote for Kavanaugh and still get booted. That would be hilarious.

IDIOT Republican voters need to VOTE for the Republican Candidate for Senate!!!!

We need more votes for the eventual replacement for RBG!!!!

That is going to be a fight! a Dem Senator will NOT vote YES to a Conservative Justice to replace RBG!!!
