Elon Musk Announces China Tesla Plant After Paying Lip Service to Trump’s Trade Campaign
Breitbart ^ | 7/11/2018 | Joshua Caplan

CEO Elon Musk said the plant, whose plans have reportedly been in the works for a year, would eventually have an annual production capacity of 500,000 cars, adding that he hoped it would be “completed very soon.”

A joint announcement released by Shanghai’s government said a preliminary agreement had been signed to build the plant in the commercial hub’s Lingang district.“Shanghai will be the location for the first Gigafactory outside the United States,” said Musk. “It will be a state-of-the-art vehicle factory and a role model for sustainability. We hope it will be completed very soon.”

The announcement has raised questions about how the new facility will be paid for. Tesla benefits from millions in U.S. government subsidies and has been burning through billions of dollars as it has struggled to raise the rate of production of its more “affordable” Model 3 car.

This fresh on the heels of Elon’s “bouncy-castle-style springy tunnel” idea to rescue the Thai boys trapped in the cave.

True genius never sleeps!

Notice the others are not bowing back.

Obama was just infantile.

I won’t call Mush infantile because he has at least achieved, but Obama... LOL.

While Musk’s vision is certainly creative, he has benefited from the federal government’s largess from what I hear.

Wouldn’t he have gone under by now, if the federal government hadn’t stepped in?

I have mixed thoughts on the guy.

Might be more to it. California leftists passed a new law this year concerning Tesla.

Requires Tesla to either unionize with the United Auto Workers Union, or forfeit State incentives to buy their electric cars! Maybe political blackmail doesn’t count as breaking any law. Unions are loving it.

I wouldn't put it past Elon Musk to say FU to CA and take all its jobs out of CA. I bet he moves some operations to someplace in the south where Unions aren't strong.

If the goal of California is to force all good large businesses to move away; they are doing a very good job. Stupid is as stupid does -Forest Gump.

Musk’s fancy dancy robotic assembly line didn’t work. He needs cheap labor if he is going to build the cars by hand. Tents are easy to put up in China
