Trump is more popular than most NATO country leaders (who think they’re better than he is)

America is a nation obsessed with political approval ratings like no other. But the U.S. media seems ignorant to the fact that President Trump is currently one of the most popular leaders of a major Western nation in the world today.

Guffaw if you like, but those who are both regarded and regard themselves as “better” leaders have lower numbers than the American president — and while his are trending up, some of theirs are in free fall.

When Barack Obama left the world stage, having commanded a mid-40s average approval rating over the course of his presidency, the New York Times declared German Chancellor Angela Merkel to be the liberal West’s “last defender.”

Less than two years later, after an election upset and an ensuing struggle to form a government, Merkel is horribly bruised and close to being ousted by her coalition partners in Germany. Both for having encouraged mass inward migration to her country, and failing to come up with a solution once the Germans figured out it wasn’t working for them.

More to the point, her approval rating stinks.

The latest Ipsos Mori data gives May just 35 per cent, though it appears she doesn’t see this as a hindrance, as she continues to lecture President Trump over immigration.

The same trend is evident in France, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

France elected a so-called “centrist” in Emmanuel Macron, who has used his presidency thus far to attempt to balance his own liberalism while trying to withstand mounting (though disorganized) pressure from the political right. According to his numbers, it isn’t working.

While elected just over a year ago with 66 per cent of the French vote, Macron now sits at just 32 per cent.

While not a “neverTrumper” I wasn’t in his corner either. But I absolutely love this man!(I haven’t been able to say that since Reagan)

I love the “sharp elbows” he is throwing to these High Brow EuroWeenies and the mind blowing reactions from the tantrum throwing leftist and their media allies.

Love it! Love it! Love it!

Except for good morning fox shows. Fox has turned on Trump today .. he’s trying to get europe to pay more so it doesn’t come from our tax money, and you’d think he committed the worst offence ever.

I’m gonna have to turn it off.

Haven't noticed that but then I may have had the idiot box on Mourning Joe.

Haven't watched them in two years when they were excited to see Trump get trounced by Hillary. What a depressing show these two are.

Not joking about the "Mourning" part. You would have thought their granny just died and somebody making fun of their dog(which they did now that I think of it, Hahaha.)

Couldn't watch more than twenty minutes of their griping about Trump. Was having a good time watching the other media whining about Mr President shaming the EuroWeenies about their defense spending and their support of the Russian gas line. MY President! Great to say that again!

Yeah. I was a little hesitant about Trump at first, and when I supported him, it started because I thought he’d be a wrecking ball for the establishment. He eventually won me over and I enthusiastically voted for him.

But dang, even my best predictions on election night are falling short of what he’s actually doing for the country.

I’m in total agreement with you; I LOVE this man!

President Trump’s Teflon is that he does not care about popularity. He was very clear when he was campaigning about what his agenda was.

His opponents are shocked to discover that he was... telling the truth. He intents to deliver on his campaign promises.

Europeans are equally shocked that an American President will not listen to his “betters”. They are also afraid that the gravy train is coming to an end.

The best part (of many best parts) is that President Trump is outing so many “fake” conservatives. Those that played patty fingers with Democrats for years, always promising to do something but never quite able to deliver on those promises. President Trump is showing the Republicans could have blocked much of the left’s agenda and when in power roll some back. The fact that they didn’t makes it clear they never intended to do so. We were all scammed by the fake Republicans.

Yep, separating the wheat from the chaff.

And there’s a lot of chaff to be rid of!

Shep came out lying his ass off - as usual. It's the lgbtpedo Nazi playbook, and he is a charter member. Sorry for the French. I had to turn the tv off.

As for Trump's popularity, I heard they were expecting/hopeing for tens of thousands of protesters. They got two dozen.

Aaaaaah yes, the token homo anchor.

If there’s one Fox show that can outb%tch the Mourning Joe set, it’s the Fox resident Drama Queen.

More Wrong than Right.

Better left outta sight.

A European nation should be run like a home. Many of the same rules apply.

For instance, if one child is allowed to get away with bloody murder, the other children resent it. And if that child happens to have been one that was brought into the home other than birth, the kids will be very angry about the difference in treatment.

Decent Europeans have had it up to their eyeballs the travesty of justice in their home.

No wonder Trump looks like a leader compared to their own politicians.

He does to most of ours too.
