Given his overall reputation and past behavior, why the hell would anyone agree to an interview with Sasha Baron Cohen?
This guy’s 15 minutes of fame ended some time ago. Let’s not keep him in the limelight.
He was disguised / impersonating a wounded vet.
I don’t think the subjects of the interviews are being told that they’re meeting Cohen. They’re told they will be interviewed by the alter ego, in this case a disabled vet.
I don’t think the interviewees know that it is Sasha Baron Cohen, at least not at first. The fact that he goes through speaker bureaus I think adds credibility to the process. I’m sure the interview starts off in a way that seems legit before venturing off into absurdity.
If you’re astute, you pick up quickly and remove yourself from the interview, like Gov. Palin, but I think that his shtick works because some people are polite, already there, and don’t want to insult the interviewer so they stay and get roped into the briar patch.
In the end, all that footage is edited for maximum effect, so even if you ended the interview quickly, there’s probably footage that can be twisted to make you look bad, or at least be used in promotional material to increase potential viewers.
Speaker Bureaus are arraigning these interviews.
Are they being duped by Cohen or are in on the gag?
If these Speaker Bureaus are knowingly setting up these interviews they need to be named and exposed.
If they're in on the gag they should be charged with fraud.
Can these Speaker Bureaus be trusted?
We’ve been through this 3 times on FR. He uses fake names, fake companies (in this case, I guess, a Veterans’ Charity) and disguises.
Because he is a piece of sh!t and had the (lack of) balls to tell her that he was a wounded vet....
They know no bounds.. and he isn’t even American :p

Boggles the mind! Are these people that naive... and lazy. Don’t they even take a minute to Google who is interviewing them?

He uses fake names. Palin said he represented himself as a wounded veteran. I certainly wouldn’t know him on sight, and I’ve never heard of this “routine” of his.
