I would suggest that between one and two million folks who did vote Hillary in 2016....walked away and are now GOP/Trump voters. This shock will be felt in November as the poll guys admit their system failed again.

The bigger worry? You got two more years...what if another million of the 2016 Democratic voters walked away?

Try six more years.

I was not originally a Trump supporter. I still think some of his speeches and tweets are pretty cringe worthy. But I’m far more interested in his successes than I am worried about his less than soaring rhetoric.

An encouraging essay and near apology.

We need all the liberals and NeverTrumpers permanently converted to our side as we can get. The Deep State is working to reverse all of our president’s progress.

Trump is a street fighter. His words are all positioning and he creates a virtual playing field over which he has great command.

There is no one else who remotely considered running for president who could have “reimagined” how to win and have success at it, as Donald Trump.

This guy sounds like a naive simpleton. Glad he’s starting to see the light.

Democrats claim that blacks have to be Democrats - but in fact, blacks haven’t had this good an economic/jobs condition in . . . well, ever.

Four years of that could easily produce more than a 15% black vote for Trump in ’20. That by itself might beat the Democrats that year.

And if Trump could sustain that kind of performance through 2024 - and deliver more than a 20% black vote for Pence in ’24 - we are talking re-alignment.

Recognize, at the same time, that this isn’t your father’s Republican Party - basically, it has been taken over by Ross Perot’s Reform Party. And that is not the first time the party has been transformed in my lifetime: up to the Ford Administration it stayed in the wilderness for 40 years with what Jack Kemp called “root canal economics.” That was the idea that the budget had to be balanced - and if the Democrats raised spending, the Republicans would help raise tax rates "to balance the budget and prevent inflation” (not that that ever worked; the Democrats could always spend more money to buy votes and keep the Republicans looking like The Grinch Who Stole Christmas).

It is important that we don’t mock converts, but accept them with open arms.

I was never Trump up to shortly after he secured the nomination. Before I signed on board the Trump train, the attacks I took from our side - including here on FR - really were hard to stomach. Not unlike what those turning away from the Democrat party are getting from their long time “friends”. It stunned me.

I LOVE Trump, now. He is doing what I had doubted he would do. He has proven me wrong. That said, if my love for country wasn’t so strong, I would never have voted for him based on the insane attacks from my own side. I had never seen FreeRepublic turn on itself like that. I went from a man who posted many times daily, to rarely visiting. It was hard.

I am not asking for sympathy. I am VERY HAPPY I voted Trump. I am VERY HAPPY Hillary lost (curses on her witchiness).

I am grateful for those who don’t gloat over my opposition to Trump leading up to the convention. Those who gracefully accept my defeat, recognition of being wrong, and welcome me back to the side that is trying to do the best for all Americans (and humanity via a strong and good America).

Trump/Pence 2020!!!
