I wonder what Sam is doing nowadays... I know he retired from ABC News 5 years ago. He probably approves of what Acosta is doing.
Didn’t Donaldson have ferret farm or some other tax dodge? Or was that just his hairpiece?

I had the misfortune of experiencing Donaldson’s self-important pontificating first hand. When Pope John Paul II came to St. Louis in 1999, I was a volunteer for his arrival. My assignment was to be stationed at the reporter’s entrance to hold the door and to assist them as needed. I was able to see the airplane from where I was standing and a reporter asked me to keep them informed of what was happening. When I told them, perhaps too excitedly, that they were rolling the stairway to the plane, Donaldson said in his pompous voice, “The Pope isn’t going to walk down the stairs, he will use the elevator.” I wanted to tell him that I didn’t say he was going to walk down the stairs, that I was just reporting what I saw. A few minutes later, the Pope did walk down the stairs.
