A family is urging everyone to stay up to date on vaccinations after losing their infant son to meningitis.
Four-month-old Killy Schultz died June 30, about 24 hours after developing a rash and spiking a fever on his way home from day care.
"He had just eaten his bottle for the afternoon. He was a little warm but we figured it was a warm day so get him home and let him cool off," said Killy's mother Alex Dempsey told WTVR-TV.
They gave him some Tylenol and when that didn't work they decided to get him checked out at the emergency room at St. Mary's Hospital.
Several tests later, and just two days after Killy had received his 4-month-old vaccinations, Dempsey and her fiancé Gabriel Schultz were informed that their baby had most likely contracted meningitis, an inflammation of the protective membranes that cover the brain and spinal cord.
"The moment they said meningitis I knew there was a really strong possibility that we were going to lose him," explained Dempsey. "They told us we were going to hit the window if he was going to make it or not but being he was only four months old he didn't really have an immune system to help us with that."
"Just out of the blue his heart rate dropped, and they started to do CPR and after 10 minutes of CPR you don't come back from that, so we had to tell them to stop," said Dempsey. "After 10 minutes of CPR grown adults don't come back from that, he was brain dead."
Is the culprit a illegal alien or a kid of an ignorant parent that didn’t have their kids vaccinated? Find them and charge them with murder.

Do most people in the US get a meningitis vaccination? I’m 46 and I’ve never had one. Do children typically get them these days?
The baby who died was vaccinated, so what is the problem?

very sad, especially when parents want to play outside the best plan for family, marry first, baby next, and have a parent home to care for infants. Paryers for all.
Please don’t have sex if you don’t have a loved one or nanny to watch an infant if you create one. An infant’s immune system DOESNT REALLY EXIST YET. He borrows from the milk and the bodies of the very few family members incl nanny) around him. He should NEVER NEVER NEVER be placed on a public or group changing table or changed by someone who routinely changes unrelated babies.
At last for one year, a baby should be kept close to home with 1-3 caring adults only, plus interactions with other people growing in frequency as the year goes out. Group daycare for under 12 months old is a BAD IDEA.
Every other mammal gets it.
Fortunately, a lemon-ginger-spinach smoothie (my usual at Smoothie King) completely recharged me...except for the soreness in my arm...lol.
Or it was the vaccine that killed him.
Meningitis vaccines are now recommended at age 12 and 16, according to some recent TV ads I’ve seen. When our kids were headed off to college to live in the dorms, there was a recommendation then in 1999 & 2004.

There is a maningitis vaccine given the day of birth, which is a travesty. Babies have been through enough test day and they can’t handle that assault neurologically. Or shouldn’t have to.
And as you see, the vaccine is worthless. I’m sure the parents of this dead 4 month old baby were told that this vaccine at birth would prevent him getting meningitis.
Vaccine “science” is primitive. One day they will be able to test babies and know which ones should or could take a vaccine effectively and safely. You know, so that it works and also doesn’t harm their brains. We aren’t looking toward that much because vaccination has become one more emotional topic, as we see here. The vaccinated baby does from the disease he was vaxed against. And they blame the unvaccinated babies. How is that logical?
Yes, but what about who he was exposed to, which they suspect was someone unvaccinated.
Maybe my kids got meningitis shots. My wife probably knows. I know I haven’t had that vaccination won’t get any more vaccinations unless there is a nationwide epidemic. Took a flu shot in ‘99 and have been sick from it ever since.
Yuck! How about a nice chocolate malt or shake? Or Mountain Dew? Or sweet tea?
This baby was vaccinated with meningitis vaccine two days earlier???? And they have the gall to say this death was because of an unvaxed baby at daycare?? It was the VACCINE.
Do you see how the CDC and big pharma turns this around on the public? This is insanity level.
That soon after the vaccination probably another kid at the peds office.
That’s not something vaccinated for in general. College kiddos and teens are pretty much the only ones.
Sometimes it ‘just happens’.
I’d look to ‘daycare’ like ‘college’ for overcrowding and unsanitary conditions.
