Yeah, P-40s were the original, but they were BRITISH P-40s in North Africa. American Flying Tigers pilots saw the iconic shark teeth design in a newspaper and adopted it.

I’m as patriotic as you get, but I really like the current look of AF1. As many have said, it’s iconic and historic.
I’d entertain another look, but most of these examples are just eyesores. Yes I love eagles, and the flag, and red white and blue. Doesn’t mean AF1 has to look like some paint shop’s acid trip midnight paint session.

IMHO, just change the blue to the same Standard Color Card of America 70075 blue (Pantone Blue PMS 282) which is on the flag. Keep the same typeface. Why they chose that powder blue has always been something of a question for me.
