Congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D) and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) will travel to Kansas together next week to campaign for a pair of candidates in the state, according to The Washington Post.
The pair will start off in Wichita, Kansas on July 20 to campaign for James Thompson in the state’s 4th district. From there they’ll head to outside Kansas City to support former Sanders delegate Brent Welder, who is running for the Democratic nomination in the 3rd congressional district.
Sanders told The Post that he and Ocasio-Cortez, a self-identified democratic socialist, organized the trip after realizing they both wanted to go to Kansas.
“All over this country, you have people who understand that we need to [change] the minimum wage to a living wage; that health care is a right; that we need to rebuild our infrastructure,” the progressive senator told the newspaper.
“Those are popular issues in the Bronx. These are popular issues in Vermont. In Kansas, they’ve gone through the [former governor Sam] Brownback agenda, and they do not believe you should give tax breaks to the rich and cut Social Security.”
Ocasio-Cortez’s stunning defeat of incumbent Rep. Joe Crowley (D) in the Democratic primary for New York’s 14th Congressional District sent shockwaves through the party.
Ocasio-Cortez on Thursday accused Crowley of refusing to concede the Democratic primary race and mounting a third-party bid against her.
Crowley denied the claims, saying that he is backing Ocasio-Cortez in the race.
Didn’t she get something like 16,000 votes?
Do they know something we don’t??? Has Trump becomenso unpopular in Kansas that they would embrace Socialism there too?

It occurs to me, that the American people will see a sharp clear choice in these mid term elections. I realize that due to gerrymandering, most House seats are predicable as to which party will prevail in those districts.
But, in the toss up seats, and in statewide Senate races, those voters will see a sharp choice confronts us. I hope all voters choose wisely.
I’m sure that Senator Pat Roberts will join them and show them around his fair state. He’ll probably take them down to Dodge City and show them his recliner that serves as his residence.
Something like that. She seems to be getting way ahead of herself, but the dems don’t have much of a bench. Right now she is the young face. That won’t last long so she might as well start cashing in while she can, like her sidekick Sanders .
The newest lefty thing is that flyover country can’t wait to sign up with the socialists so long as socialism is rebranded.
They are dragging the party further towards irrelevancy, while celebrating that triumph.
Kansas is 11% hispanic. (mostly Mexican). The 17th largest statewide hispanic population.
Kansas has also been at the tender globalist mercies of Trump’s nemesis the Koch brothers.

She would have gotten more, if more people voted. At this point she could beat any white guy, including the one she defeated, in a breeze, if only Democrats are voting.
Watch out for her - and the Dems are lucky she’s so young, or she’d already be in the presidential running.

Fox had a local radio host discussing the effects of the trade war would have on farmers. He claimed Kansans are still very hot for Trump though they are worried about how he treats Putin and the tariffs situation.
Both hard left. Both would take all our money and give it to slackers and then condemn us for being racist.
