Democratic National Committee chairman Tom Perez lavished praise on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently calling her “the future of our party.”

After the 28-year-old progressive candidate unseated House Democratic Caucus chair Rep. Joseph Crowley in an upset in New York’s 14th Congressional District, candidates across the country are looking to her for inspiration.

ABC News spoke with a few of them about their visions for the upcoming primary elections and the nation.

Abdul El-Sayed

Running to be Michigan’s next governor, Abdul El-Sayed, 33, is a medical doctor and Rhodes Scholar who’s been endorsed by Justice Democrats, a progressive advocacy group, Our Revolution, a group borne out of Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign that supports “a new generation of progressive leaders”, and Ocasio-Cortez.

“I believe a politics of working hard for economic, social, and racial justice can succeed anywhere in America. Michigan is blessed to have Abdul El-Sayed as a candidate for Governor, and I am proud to support him,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted.

Abdul El-Sayed

I’m tempted to cross over and vote for this guy in the primary, he would get crushed in the general. But one does not tempt fate. It would be a disaster if this guy became Gov.

“Progressive” = someone who wants to rob you of the fruits of your labor but is either too lazy or too cowardly to do it himself and relies on the government to rob you for him.

This applies to 100% of Bernie’s free stuff army as well as anyone who voted for this worthless POS

There has always been a globalist/socialist open borders transform the culture faction within the Democratic Party. Its good for America that they are coming into the open and their evolving dominance within the Democratic Party is becoming known to the American people. People have to know the real consequences of voting for any Democrat.

The reason the communist party in the USA has dropped so far in membership is because the Democrat party is now espousing the communist values

Rubio, McCain, Graham, Hatch, Heller, Hoeven, Murkowsky, Alexander, Corker, Flake and everyone named Bush.

Kerri Evelyn Harris is a biracial, lesbian candidate running to unseat U.S. Senator Tom Carper (D-Del). If elected, she would be the first openly LBGTQ woman of color in Congress.

Not a damn word about real qualifications.

The CPUSA (Rooskie run, at least in the olden daze) supported H->! in 2016.

H->! never disavowed that support. Surprisingly the LSM never asked her to...

It’s actually really scary that the democrat party is hailing these full blown Marxists as the “future of the party”. It’s hard to believe now but there was actually a time, not very long ago, where even the democrats wouldn’t have given card carrying commies the time of day...

Republican globalists are a minority, do not and cannot control the Party or reflect the will of the rank and file. Not true for your Democratic friends. When push comes to shove who would you prefer to be in power. It does and will make a difference.

The white ruling class in the Demoncrat Party is starting to feel some heat. Those nonwhites who used to “know their place” in the party hierarchy want the power themselves.

Bush League Republicans do still run the GOP.
They are the majority of the elected, going against the majority of their voters.
That’s why Trump was necessary.
