My grandson was just here and we fired off a lot of bottle rockets . They were left from a mega purchase at least thirty five years ago. Most still fired effectively. They were like money burning a hole in his pocket. He bugged me incessantly from the minute he arrived “when are we going to set off the bottle rockets grandad”

The event produced boasts from my 50 year old son about bottle rocket exploits previously unknown to me.

Next year for his 4th of July visit we will buy lots more. The fun per $$ is hard to beat.

For those in places where fireworks are illegal, we have a mega store where customers buy fireworks literally by the shopping cart full. The purchases easily run into the hundreds of $$. A near professional ariel display can easily be produced.

I never let myself run out of them for the same reason, grandsons (my granddaughter only likes the pop-its).

Also lit off 20-year-old large rockets with sometimes funny results a couple weeks ago, e.g., one whined slowly upwards for about 20 feet and then moaned its finale.

Thanks for sharing!
