GOP’s Hugin Attacks Menendez as Poll Shows NJ Senate Race a Statistical Tie
Breitbart ^ | 17 Jul 2018 | Michael Patrick Leahy

Bob Hugin, the GOP nominee for the U.S. Senate in New Jersey, launched a blistering attack on Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) Monday as a new poll shows the race is now a statistical tie. The Gravis Marketing Poll, provided exclusively to Breitbart News on Monday, showed that Menendez leads Hugin by just two points, 43 percent to 41 percent, which is within the poll’s 4.1 percent margin of error

In 2012, Menendez easily defeated his Republican opponent by 18 points.

But November’s election comes on the heels of a public corruption trial of Menendez which the Department of Justice dropped in January after an earlier mistrial, and Hugin is driving home the theme with New Jersey voters that perhaps justice may be better served at the ballot box than in the courtroom.

On Monday, Hugin attacked Menendez with both barrels on Twitter.

He first noted that Menendez’s “colleagues on the bipartisan Senate Ethics Committee agree he violated federal law & abused his power to help his ‘best friend’ Melgen, a convicted felon serving 17 yrs in jail for scamming millions from Medicare.”

He then criticized Menendez for comparing President Trump’s meeting with Vladimir Putin to Pearl Harbor.

Based on what has happened,I can’t think of a reason for anyone to vote for Mendez.

So let me get this straight: the guy is as crooked as an Arctic day is long, it’s known, and he’s still in a statistical tie?

Yeah, the Left sure cares about corruption....

This would indeed be an “unexpected” pickup. But it is New Jersey, the Nation’s Toilet, so I’m not going to hold my breath.

Wow. I am following another out of the box race that could be a pickup ( Geoff Diehl vs Liz Warren ) however this is good news.

More on my Liz Warren theory:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3654536/posts

The question begs will NJ = what I heard on Howie Carr the other day that is happening in MA ( given NJ probably is a big union State )

Union member calls in Howie, he may have been a Stewart from MA (building trades). He said the rank and file are all Trumpian and get this, the Union Bosses are starting to get it too. It makes sense they have jobs now. Oh it gets better, the gent noted No way are they gonna put up a banner etc to tell the rank and file to vote for Phocakhauntus, aka Liz Warren.

So will this occur in NJ w/ Menendez?

Hugin is a Democrat in an R jersey, no reason to get excited.

I can say with absolute certainty that Hugin will take down Menendez.

But I can also say with certainty that Hugin will not overcome whoever the NJ Dems substitute for Menendez (last minute) on the ballot.

All this has happened before. All this will happen again and again and again and again.

“Hugin is a Democrat in an R jersey, no reason to get excited.”

Well, that would be an improvement, and it would help keep the Senate in “Repubican” hands. Again, it’s New Jersey, and we have to expect that a normal conservative would never have a chance. I mean Christie and Christy Todd Whitman are not what I would call Conservatives.

Yes, it would be an improvement, however it would also be a pain as he’d most certainly become another reliable “Republican” Trump critic on the Fake News circuit, along with Senator Mitt Romney.

The biggest benefit would really be the immediate narrative shift from any kind of “blue wave” as it would serve as a repudiation of the left’s deranged radicalism that has totally consumed their party. In actuality, Menendez is a weak candidate who had sex with underage prostitutes paid for by one of his donors. In any normal state, he’d be cooked, but in NJ, he remains the slight favorite.

” In any normal state, he’d be cooked, but in NJ, he remains the slight favorite.”

My wife has a friend of many years here in NorCal who is from NJ. It is completely impossible to have a reasoned conversation with her about politics. She is consumed with the mistaken idea that it’s the politician’s job to “bring home the bacon.” To somehow get her her unfair share of the pie. Furthermore, she “believes” that government money comes from a place other than the taxpayers pocket. That her “needs” must be met by government no matter what it costs.

Sounds about right. I have family in NJ and NY, so I’m forced to go back at times in order to see them. It took moving away to see exactly how much of a hellhole it’s become. The only redeeming feature are the beaches, but you can get them elsewhere. I’ll never move back ever.

Time to indict Menendez for his Lolita Express outings. But, wait; to RATs that’s a resume enhancer!

FEARLESS PREDICTION: Chelsea Clinton will be elected to the US Senate by the State of New Jersey in 2018.

Yeah... I know... Hear me out...

In October, it will be clear the Robert Menendez is going down to defeat. The Democrats cannot afford to lose this seat, so they will perform another Torricelli Switch after the ballot deadline.

They will need a big name, with instant name recognition, to run in the short campaign. Senator Lautenberg is dead and no longer available (as opposed to last time when he was dead AND available). So what other name is there on the Democrat side bigger than Clinton?

Hillary does not want to go back to the Senate and Bill is... Bill, so the job will fall to Chelsea.

There will be a week of lawsuits and hooting and hollering, but the NJ Supremos will step in and settle the matter with about two weeks to go. In a short campaign Democrats will step all over themselves to rush to the polls and cast a ballot for somebody named “Clinton”.

Chelsea will run on a centrist Democrat “Third Way” platform, and there will be no stopping her.

Take it to the bank!
