After Helsinki, Democrats see chance to capitalize on Trump’s embrace of Russia

{snip} But coming on the heels of the indictment of 12 Russian military intelligence officials last week alleging a detailed campaign to interfere on Trump’s behalf, many Democrats believe the summit may have helped clarify months of opaque investigations into the president’s Russia ties — probes that Trump and his allies have spent months attacking as a biased “witch hunt.”

“It got simple real fast,” said Jim Kessler, senior vice president for policy at Third Way, a centrist Democratic think tank. “I’ve talked to a lot of Democrats that are running in purple and red states and districts who have said that Russia rarely comes up back home, and I think that has now changed.”

There you have it, FRiends. The timing of uninforceable indictments was purely coincidental --- in a pig's ear.

Wishful thinking.

The Dems have nothing to run on, no positive agenda.

Bashing Trump will not be enough for them to win.

I truely hope they push this crap. We have been playing the game with Ivan for years and I don’t remember them going religious nuts like muslims. They don’t have virgins waiting on them and they don’t want to blow up. We chased them and they chased us all over the world in our ships and planes. Mutual destruction is an easier negotiation method than rocks, beheadings, and gun fights. Also oddly enough they aren’t encasing the US. IMO

The only people who care about this Fake News issue are the Kool-Aid drinkers who are already anti-Trumpers.

The "offending" remark made by President Trump was nothing more than what he has been saying for the last thirty years;

We are in the social, political and economic mess we are in because we have made stupid deals by stupid people and he told us those deals would be negated or re negotiated.

Listen again to his comment.

THAT was what he said.

Russia, Russia, Russia will be forgotten by the time the November elections roll around.

The Dims are getting desperate. They clutch to anything that can give them hope.

Hard to hold your power and hammer the weak minded when some one takes away the false boogeyman and points a light at the real one.

I am absolutely confused. Do we as a country want peace or war with Russia. This country is about as War Weary as you can get, I almost think where we are is analygus to the period of the 100 years war between France and England in the 14th and 15h Centuries.

Personally I really don’t care about Russia in the Crimea, they have always wanted and warm water seaport and frankly I don’t care about the Ukraine either. Let them figure it out.

I remember when Nixon went to the USSR in June of 1972 and no one from either party was opposed to opening and having better relations with the Soviets then. We are fools not to try something. Bring back Nixon’s Triangulation Policy so that we don’t let the Russians or the Chinese join forces.

Are there any idiots in Washington that know anything about Geopolitical Politics, because that is the Game Trump is playing.

Yup. All The Donald has to do to short circuit this bullshit, is again, tell the unwashed that he is destroying the Russian economy with sanctions, kicked out 63 Russian dignitaries from US soil, at NATO, highlighted the German/Russian pipeline deal, etc. Trump should also ask CNN Jim Acosta & Company where our nuke material is that The Beast sold to Moscow.
