“implications for the US?”
Doper Demonrats can go to Cancun and the pushers don’t have to ship “El Norte”
Then they can get get imprisoned in Mexico and their families will have to ransom them back.
Looks like a win - win to me
We can.... Encourage the “legalize everything” crowd to mass immigrate southwards, freeing up resources and jobs here.
Its an insanely stupid idea but liberal governments try to think of whatever the most provocative thing to decent people is and then do that. Then when it crashes and burns blame the USA, God, whitey, men, capitalism, etc.
He’s as much as admitting that he’s a Cartel puppet. Wonder when the UN is going to send him a stern letter of disapproval...ah, never mind.
The cartels will likely expand their drug business and adopt various ways to suppress any new competition. They are too large and entrenched in Mexican society to simply watch a lucrative source of wealth disappear through legalization.
Think Venezuela but instead of the one basket of eggs being crude oil, it will be drugs that supports the upper class. When that doesn’t work, they’ll start taking over other industries.
All our mechanical auto parts, oem and aftermarket, are made there. Just wait til they try to nationalize that. The auto industry will come rushing back to the US then.
Minor - the cartels have already been outgunning the Mexican government for years, and the vast majority of their profits come not from Mexico but from the American market whose drug ban has given them a monopoly there.
