Opinion: One FBI text message in Russia probe that should alarm every American
The Hill ^ | 07/19/18 | John Solomon

Lisa Page and Peter Strzok, the reported FBI lovebirds, are the poster children for the next “Don’t Text and Investigate” public service ads airing soon at an FBI office near you.

Their extraordinary texting affair on their government phones has given the FBI a black eye, laying bare a raw political bias brought into the workplace that agents are supposed to check at the door when they strap on their guns and badges.

It is no longer in dispute that they held animus for Donald Trump, who was a subject of their Russia probe, or that they openly discussed using the powers of their office to “stop” Trump from becoming president. The only question is whether any official acts they took in the Russia collusion probe were driven by those sentiments.

How concerned you are by this conduct is almost certainly affected by your love or hatred for Trump. But put yourself for a second in the hot seat of an investigation by the same FBI cast of characters: You are under investigation for a crime the agents don’t think occurred, but the investigation still advances because the desired outcome is to get you fired from your job.

At one time the fbi fired agents who committed adultery.

Perhaps personalizing this to a person losing their job is an attempt to bring those who hate Trump to come to their senses. It won’t be successful. Most Trump-haters are so emotionally wound up that they can no longer be objective, so this attempt is another waste of time.

Americans should be concerned beyond their job, for without a properly functioning government where the rule of law means something irrespective of party, one’s “job” won’t exist in a country once called America.

I could care less if Strzok was screwing around, except that he chose a fellow FBI employee and they both used official government equipment and by all accounts a great deal of government time to pursue their affair. In any normal workplace they would both have been fired for reasons that have nothing to do with their treason against the President.

No. What gives the FBI a black eye is the FBI [the 97% that give the other 3% a bad name]. We all know people are people and do crap things. What we learn from all of this is that the FBI is part of the deepstate department of Just-us and has nothing to do with justice, redundnatly "equal justice for all", which motto has to say the same thing thrice because it ain't close to true.

POST TEASE here’s the meat behind that headline:

For any American who wants an answer sooner, there are just five words, among the thousands of suggestive texts Page and Strzok exchanged, that you should read.

That passage was transmitted on May 19, 2017. “There’s no big there there,” Strzok texted.

I've always thought that that message meant that he [and others] were plotting to prevent the duly elected President from taking office through any and all means.

Tell me that this guy is not unhinged:

The congressman who charged him with ‘hubris’ was spot on.

There needs to be a severe housecleaning at the FBI and DOJ.

During his testimony he corrected that to, “there is no hair there” but refused to expand on what he claimed was a late night typo. /s

Thank for posting.

Solomon teased about this article two nights ago on Fox.

Confirming Page’s closed-door testimony might have been what delayed publication.

“No there...”

then everything they did after May 19th 2017 is basically “professional malpractice” on the part of these two “law enforcement professionals”

To the extent their agency was aware of this makes the FBI institutionally responsible as well

I’d like to see some concrete evidence that those two really did have an affair.

The more time passes, the more the justification for the firing of Comey and McCabe wins support.
