Hillsborough, N.C. — Under the threat of rain, dozens of people gathered Saturday morning in Orange County to express their support for the Second Amendment and their right to carry guns.
Over 200 people had expressed interest in the event, which was publicized by organizers via a Facebook.post. The event was held at the Old Orange County Courthouse and several speakers said they were strong advocates of the Second Amendment, which is enshrined in America's Bill of Rights.
"Only the misuse of a gun is wrong," one of the speakers said. "I believe the majority of Americans do not want to ban guns."
Under state law, guns are not allowed to be carried by those attending public rallies, demonstrations or protests.

Aside from the above-mentioned protection of liberty, It is also great sport. I have been a competitive shooter for 4 decades, in several disciplines, and have a blast about every other weekend.
Highpower, PRS, IDPA, USPSA, 3-gun, Trap and Skeet - get out and try it. Then you will “get it”.

WOW I never thought I would read that crap on this site.
So guns are for self defense, sports, and the right to protect yourself against a tyrannical government.
When lived in Orange county, NY NYC decided to send about 200 of their homeless to Camp laGuardia in Goshen an abandoned women’s prison bought by the city. Immediately there was a rash of burglaries, muggings, assaults, etc. In what can only be described as shrewdness or cluelessness one of the town councilmen told the local media he was “shocked and concerned” about the sudden increase in shotgun sales at the then newly opened Dicks at the nearby Crystal Run Mall, and the other gun stores.in the area, as well as the YYYUGE increase in concealed carry apps submitted to the Orange county Sheriff’s office. Wouldn’t ya know it the crime rate in Chester plummeted overnight and within months NYC stopped sending homeless up there and sold the property at a loss. An armed society IS a polite society.
Bring them anyway. It is your RIGHT. You do not ask permission to exercise a right.

As others have said, guns/the 2nd amendment right to bear arms protects us from tyranny and thugs....which is exactly what the Democommies are all about.
Maybe if the victims were armed they wouldn’nt be “victims” now would they?
