And so it seemed to go on the July 22 State of the Union on CNN as host Jake Tapper appeared to act as a latter day Inspector Javert hot on the trail of his Jean Valjean in the form of businessman and former Trump adviser Carter Page who was clearly amused by Tapper's dogged persistence over what he kept swatting down.
