Donald Trump’s Approval Rating Inches Higher, Buoyed by Republican Support
Wall Street Journal ^

President Donald Trump’s approval rating edged higher during a week in which he faced withering criticism following a summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, signaling that he is positioned to weather the latest controversy sparked by his unusual brand of politics.

Mr. Trump’s job approval rating rose to 45% in a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll, the highest mark of his presidency and up 1 percentage point from June. The survey was taken over a four-day period that started July 15, a day before Mr. Trump’s news conference with Mr. Putin in which he questioned the conclusion of U.S. intelligence agencies that Russia meddled in the 2016 election.

Because the survey started a day before Mr. Trump’s news conference in Helsinki, pollsters said the results may not capture the full reaction to events that unfolded throughout the week. Still, pollsters said results in the two days following Mr. Trump’s remarks—deemed by Newt Gingrich, a Trump adviser and former U.S. House speaker, to be “the most serious mistake of his presidency”—differed little from the preceding two days.

“During what is a terrible week in terms of media coverage and focus on the president, these numbers don’t budge,” Mr. McInturff said, describing the president’s approval ratings as “stable.”

Nobody is listening any more after 3 years of weekly media outrages. It’s all background noise now.

Notice how they can’t just say “President Trump approval rating went up.” They have to soften the blow for the left, by saying it only “inched” higher, then even couch that by saying it was only because of “Republican support”. That way their lefty readers can just dismiss it by saying, “oh than goodness, real people don’t support Trump, only Republicans!”

I believe if he got even-handed media coverage … i.e., positive when he does things right, negative when he is off, rather than the 95% negative no matter what … his approval would be 55-60%. But so many people take the media at face value and it’s withering constant criticism that no one can stand up to. Although Trump is certainly better at fending it off than anyone else.

This is certainly going to make heads explode over at thehill.com. The loony leftists in the comments section WERE POSITIVE that President Trump would be down to 30% after the Russian Summit, they really thought the impeachment hearings would be starting as soon as the new polls hit. Yet the actual response from “real America” was a yawn....

I doubt that republican voters are thinking, *Oh, the Republicans are on board with Trump. Then I will be too.*

On the contrary, I think the popular support is growing and the Republican candidates know what’s good for them with midterms coming up and THEY are the ones jumping on the bandwagon.

If they are reporting 45%, I wager that it is at least 55% But don't take my word for it. Watch Democrats. They are literally shitt!ng. Literally.

I haven’t heard any chatter about the blue wave for the mid term elections recently.

The media also have not been reporting the generic Congressional polls for the mid terms. For a long time, Democrats were well ahead in that survey, and the media reported it regularly.

But now that the media isn’t reporting this at all, we can only assume the results would be bad news for Democrats.

And where are the polls on key Senate races? Again, if the media aren’t trumpeting them, odds are they are bad news for Democrats.

Yup. I’m more concerned that Rubio’s owners have activated him this week to subvert Trump, with him sinking a new judge & saying the FBI is in the clear. Total, egregious nonsense that points to him being in the pocket of other forces.

Of course, it’s now a political formula -

Dems + Big Media hysterical = Trump approval rating above 50%

Not everyone wants to die in a nuclear war with Russia like most Dems and GOP’ers. Imagine that.

Mr. Trump’s job approval rating rose to 45% in a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll

This means his approval rating is really above 50%.

This is a Wall Street Journal/NBC poll. Now ask yourself what do the two outfits have in common? Generally speaking, despite their divergent histories they now have a great deal in common. Both have jettisoned a Capitalist economic philosophy. Actually, they are dominated by their own self interest. At the WSJ there is a schizophrenia that exists, with the editorial page on one path and the news service on another. As for NBC it forms part of an elitist media that has nothing but antipathy for the middle class, and like the WSJ even derides the proletariat as well. Thus, one can say that both CBS and the WSJ stooges are dominated by Cosmopolitains = fellow travelers who will serve as fodder for the Gulag when the Communists take over.

Considering the constant highly negative press coverage, this is great and remarkable indeed.

Sensible people should continue to support the president to Make America Great Again!

This strikes terror in the hearts of REPUBLICANS in Congress.

Especially those who have not been out front and vocal in their support of this President.

Which is like, everyone, except Rand Paul and a couple of House members. IF it’s a whole couple of them.

The entire Washington establishment is shocked, and terrified.

The deep state and all it’s allies, historic and new, threw everything they had at this President over the last few days in an effort to remove him.

And his popularity with the electorate just went up.

They are so wrong, it is because people understand their President is under attack.

This is a natural reaction.
