The media spin on this is downright hilarious. Major Garret in his usual hate Trump scowl said they need these because they are often asked for advice by the President.

Hey idiot Major, do you really want your audience to believe that Trump is going to need or want advice from unhinged Clapper or commie Brennan? The corrupt media is quite entertaining.

Trump should just issue an executive order that says anyone not working with US government, directly or through a contractor, shall have their clearance immediately suspended upon leaving that work. I always thought that was the case anyway. Make it an across the board rule. Issue it today.

I AM FURIOUS ABOUT IT! I don’t know of any reason they should have maintained their clearances other that to be able to have access to information they DO NOT need access to any longer. From rice to clapper to comey they should have all access and badges surrendered NOW! Escort required for any future access and even then limited. It’s got nothing to do with “cashing in” on info they have or can obtain. I’ve had clearances, had them suspended, re-instated, re-investigated, suspended, re-instated. All due to lay offs or no longer “needing” access to certain info. Got nothing to do with any of the assclowns making derogatory comments about PDJT either. Grrrrrrrr!

Accusing someone of treason is not a derogatory remark, but a call for impeachment. Crazy Maxine can call for impeachment, but everyone knows she’s got the maturity and IQ of an addled five-year-old. When a former director of the CIA with top security clearance says it, it has undeserved significance. He needs to be thrown out of the CIA building on his ear next time he comes by for a chat. No clearance. Unwelcomed. Period. Like Judge Piro at Whoopy Cushion’s house.

LOL! No, I was thinking the dems and and adam schiff-or-brains claiming Trump suggesting pulling their clearances for those derogatory remarks. Or something.

Perfect! That would work, and in the present environment, it might be absolutely necessary.

Makes perfect sense to revoke an ex employee rogue communist muzzie calling for a Presidents removal to have NO access to any govt material. Jail is the best option for Brennan

Read up on J. Edgar Hoover. The FBI has a history of being misused.

here's hoping their access was terminated when they left and nobody allowed them access since....

Give all that has taken place, want to place a bet their access was not turned off?

I have had clearances, if you leave a company where the clearance was needed you effectively do not have access to classified data since you have to have a manager certify you need to have cleasified data.

As an agency chairman, it is a little different I am told, they may be allowed to keep records that they worked on and have access to them if needed at any time.

A clearance does not immediately disappear in the federal records, because I have been inactive for several years and returned. My clearance was reactive in less than 6 months and I went back on the 5 year cycle. Sometimes the clearance cycle is longer, at one company it was 7 years, because of the cost to run a complete investigation.

Recent news says you are right - it seems that some of the 'elite" Deep State has been allowed to retain access because of the 'potential to be used as consultants"....looks like Trump is getting ready to fix this and now the left is calling it an attack.....

Nobody should retain access once they leave the job that required it - it leaves gaping holes in our National security when folks like Brennan/Clapper, etc., have it and the practice needs to be ended - looks like Trump is making improvements we didn't even realize needed to be made.
