Is checking for a wire illegal or “frisking” for electronics against 1A? Go to a local court house, submit to a bag x-ray and pass through the metal detector. Observe what happens... the electronics either go back to the car or are held at the checkpoint.

I saw on news they showed footage of this guy walking down the streets of NY and stopping to talk in passing to a couple people (no audio) and I could just tell he was a slimeballz.

Some states are "single party consent" states meaning that only one of the people being recorded has to give consent. The other party doesn't even have to be informed. It varies from state to state. I don't know how New York law reads.

I agree that a lawyer should not be sharing private conversations with anyone. I was speaking specifically to the legality of recording that conversation.
Perhaps I read this wrong, but it appears this exonerates Trump. Cohen admits he, not Trump, paid the hooker.
I agree, regarding the affair, the payoff or anything else related to the situation being discussed, it matters little if at all to the base. That is a total reversal from almost 30 years ago. A matter such as this brought fire and brimstone from most who are now no matter what Trump supporters. Especially if affected someone across the aisle. And it did. This has been an eye opening lesson in identity politics. And explains why when we during Lewinski couldn’t understand feminists and other liberals who would normally scream bloody murder should an executive have the type of relationship with a subordinate that Clinton did was still unbreakably supportive of him during that time. While not a direct one off regarding what was done, we nonetheless stood behind family values, were against silencing the “bimbo eruptions” and took great pains to expose them and faithfulness to marriage vows as reasons why Clinton was unfit to be elected as well as once he was continue in office.
I would think most people are uneasy knowing that an attorney secretly taped his clients. Besides that, he had the tapes in a place where the FBI could find them.
Cohen is as sleazy as it gets.
