Denver Health officials announced Sunday afternoon they have a patient in isolation who could possibly have Ebola. They say the man recently traveled to the Congo and returned to the United States a couple of days ago.

He became very sick Sunday morning, according to health officials. Then he was brought to the hospital from his hom

They say the patient is in fair condition, and Ebola is being considered as a potential, but unlikely diagnosis. Officials say the region where the patient visited hasn’t had an Ebola case for more than 45 days.

“The symptoms can mimic a lot of common illnesses… anything from the flu to appendicitis,” said Connie Price, an infectious diseases physician and Chief Medical Officer of Denver Health.

Emergency crews were seen in hazmat-like suits entering the building Sunday afternoon. The hospital is operating as normal, and officials say there is no threat to the public, including patients and staff.

“From an initial review of the situation and the symptoms presented by the patient, it is unlikely that this will be confirmed as an Ebola case,” said Price.”

So, even if it turns out to be Ebola, it’s unlikely that it will be confirmed as a case Ebola infection? Ok, got it.

Have a co worker from the Philippines. He said incoming aircraft passengers in Manila pass through a scanner that detects elevated body temperature.

Those people that indicate a fever are pulled, isolated, examined and still isolated until resolved.

"a rich multi-colored tapestry, a rainbow mosaic, a patchwork quilt of many hues, diversity is our strength … blah, blah, blah, blah, gag me with a spoon"

The only American who has any necessary business traveling to the Congo is Tarzan or Jungle Jim.

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

It seemed like 0bama was intentionally trying to create a path to import these patients. A way to destroy our country among the other ways being used in parallel.

He said the scanners arose from the threat of Bird Flu.

The US should have these scanners in the Customs Line.
