A serious question, please. If an individual, driven to distraction and uncontrollable rage by never ending and ever worsening vitriol aimed at President Trump, is finally diven to act out his fury, is the entity that drove and incited the act of violence LEGALLY culpable and responsible?

If there is evidence that the perp’s violence is a direct result of incitements fostered or promoted by
a source, then, yes, the source is liable.

As a criminal matter, the prosecutor having proper jurisdiction over the matter would have to prove in court that the individual who committed a violate act did so because they relied on media hatred as truth that only violence would actually remove Trump from power. However, as a civil matter, less proof would be required to justify a lawsuit and judgment against a violent person or persons, regardless of the basis for their violence.
