NFL orders Jerry Jones to stop talking anthem, Fox 4’s Mike Doocy cancels interview

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is now suddenly listening to the NFL.

Four days after seemingly defying the NFL and letting the world know about his team’s zero-tolerance policy regarding standing for the national anthem, Jones is now not talking about the issue because he has been told not to by the league.

Jones informed several local television stations who had booked him for interviews on their Sunday night show from training camp in Oxnard, Calif., that questions about the national anthem and his team’s policy were not permitted because the NFL had told him to stop speaking on the matter.

It prompted Fox 4’s Mike Doocy to cancel his interview with Jones

Doocy said he was told by the Cowboys public relations staff that he could not ask any questions about the national anthem at the last minute. He made the editorial decision to nix the interview.

Jones did appear on other local channels but without being asked about the anthem.

Jones’ sudden adherence to league policy comes less than a week after he separated himself from the NFL with his pronouncement of a team-mandated anthem policy of standing to attention with toes on the line or face the prospect of getting cut.

The MFL is in a death spiral. I quit watching when the Denver Donkeys took a knee and have not watched a game since. Not even a Stupor Bowl. Go to Cuba you USA freedom haters.

These clowns have permanently destroyed any enjoyment I might get out of watching the NFL.

That freedom includes the freedom to complain about how it’s playing out, even if your complaints are wrong.

The NFL has really been garbage for years apart from the protests. Commercials, stoppages, penalties, no flow to the game, glitzy, fruity celebrations, failure of players to police themselves.

For a little while, I respected Jerry Jones.

This proves the NFL is against this country and the generally conservative public paying for their stadiums.

If the NFL wants to spit on this country, let them do it with their own money. Take away their tax exempt status, or at a minimum, stop using tax payer money to build 500 million dollar plus stadiums because they want to compete for the newest, biggest facilities.

Pay for your own pride.

Roger Goodell is doing in excellent job in his mission to destroy the NFL, especially since a significant number of players began assistance him.

As a reformed NFL fan (many decades) I can say that I miss the games, but over time, the show-boating, self-important players persuaded me to re-think the league's position in my life.

Enter the players' choices to dishonor themselves by America-hating displays of sick and divisive and deplorable and overt scorn of the very fine Country that has given them so much.

As a Veteran, a Son and Dad of Veterans, a Citizen, a footbal player in my youth, and a sports aficionado, it was much easier than I thought to remove the NFL from my life (and %100 percent so). I feel so much better not having to watch me or my Country insulted by some ingrate millionaires who have no knowledge of our history, traditions, and culture.

And the other news? Fewer chips and dips, less beer and soda, more free time, and a feeling of emancipation from a former sport that has become a time and culture thief.

The current NFL ladership is doing the same thing to the NFL that Barack Obama tried to do to the USA.

Sabotage it and destroy it from within.

The BLMPA and Goodell can disrespect America all day long, but an OWNER has to keep his mouth shut. It really bums me out that I can’t look forward to the next NFL season like I once did. I loved football when it was all about football. But I’m so done with this crap. I just miss a great American pastime that has been completely destroyed.

I saw 2 days ago that the AP is tweeting out a demand that the NFL go on strike unless some team signs the grossly over-rated Colin Kaepernick. I keep hoping that idea gains traction. That could well be the fatal blow for this putrid league.
