Leonard Pitts, Jr. is a Miami Herald columnist who writes a lot of left-wing nonsense. In his latest column, he's managed to outdo himself.
His latest opinion piece, here, says one death is too many when it involves guns, so I have some easy questions for him.
Is one death too many when a person is killed by an illegal alien? Why aren't these murders covered much by the media? Is it because they just don't fit the agenda? Why is it that when someone dies because of a gun, Pitts and other journalists say we need more strict gun laws on everyone? But when illegal aliens cause deaths and commit other crimes, they don't say we need more strict immigration laws?
Gang members illegally cross borders and commit many crimes, including rape and murder, yet somehow Pitts and others don't want to tighten up the border to make citizens safer. Why?

Easy answer. Gun owners are likely conservative. And also a hindrance to government control. Illegals, on the other hand, are the new democrat base. Since they’re losing numbers.

A precinct captain in Chicago said a year ago or so that when there is a shooting death they have a list of a little over 1800 people who either know who did it or did the shooting. Invariably, in the case of shootings which are solved, the shooter is among that group. Assume 4000 for LA.
Do we get rid of the 2nd amendment to try and shut down 5800 people who are out of control? The answer is no. HELL NO.
Because, as HRC said “We can Win on guns.”
That’s all that matters to the left.
Raw, naked power. Win, command, control.
How about one death being too many concerning cancer or heart disease? Why not spend scarce tax money fighting things like these that kill far more Americans and Canadians than the criminal or tragic misuse of firearms?
How about death in general. As far as I can find, the death rate world wide remains at 100%. Eventually. :-)

Only ‘deaths’ from guns count... and those deaths COUNT MORE if a black person dies... AND THEY COUNT EVEN MORE IF THE PERSON KILLING THE BLACK PERSON IS A POLICE OFFICER...
As far as innocent Americans (of all colors) murdered by illegals - those victims don’t matter at all.
Pitts is an emotional ideologue.
It is not hypocrisy.
They don’t care about the murders.
The Left has plans for us that they cannot implement while Americans are still armed.
The LEAST of these is seizure of 401ks and IRAs for ‘protection’ and redistribution. That trial balloon seems to reappear everytime a Democrat administration is elected.
