This confirmation actually claws back the 11th Circuit from Majority RAT to a 6-6 tie.

Excellent. Circuit Court judges really matter - far more than District Court judges. The Turtle needs to push more through more quickly.

But Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer framed Grant’s legal philosophy as “extreme” in the lead-up to Tuesday’s vote

I feel great that Judge Britt Grant forced Chuckles McFeely to take some time off from diddling kiddies to personally attack her.

Noticed the first paragraph of the “news” story, framing the judge’s confirmation pretty much the same way they did with every Obama judicial nomination./s

The Turtle is actually pretty good with confirming the appellate judges. there are only 3 pending confirmations that have cleared the judiciary committee with 7 still at the committee level.

He still has district judges that were nominated almost a year ago waiting for confirmation. Hopefully a bunch can get confirmed during the cancelled recess this summer.

But yes, the appellate judges take priority.

“Grant’s nomination was briefly held up due to an unrelated dispute over trade. The intra-GOP fight infuriated Isakson and Perdue, who pressured their colleague U.S. Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., to drop holds he placed on Grant and all of President Donald Trump’s circuit court nominees.”

What is wrong with this mental case Flake?

Has Schumer EVER protested a liberal/dem nominee?

No?

Well, it must be ideology over qualification then.

Schumer is a geriatric David HOgg.

The new norm is for the Democrats to vote no to every appointment unless a senator is in a battle for their seat. I hope the Republicans remember that when they are in the minority. Automatic no. Resist everything. Beat the Democrats in the elections.
