...Publix fires warning shot in fight over fake service animals...

It’s the supermarket showdown that we’ve all been waiting for: grocery shoppers versus pets in shopping carts....

Publix Supermarkets Inc. appeared to set up this battle royale when over the weekend various news outlets reported the venerable chain was finally laying down the law with regard to service animals in their stores.

Publix has posted new warnings signs at store entrances and exits telling customers which service animals are permitted in the store and where they can be.

“For food safety reasons, only service animals that are specifically trained to aid a person with disabilities are permitted within the store.

“Service animals are not permitted to sit or ride in shopping carts.

“Thank you for your help!”

I am with you. I am all for service animals, 100% when they are needed.

I am not for people bringing their support hamster into places. Because that is where it is right now.

“only service animals that are specifically trained to aid a person with disabilities are permitted within the store.”

Now that I can support 100%, should be the rule in all food type stores.

Thank you Publix

” I don’t want to put my food where an animal has sat its poopy butt and paws...”

I would rather have a dog riding in a shopping cart than a kid with a oozing crappy diaper.

I see them at the hospital all the time. I have seen them several times in the ICU waiting room.

That’s a more appropriate place for them than the frozen aisle at Publix.

China blowtorches dogs alive after hanging them from a meathook through their jaw. At least the Koreans mostly electrocute them. Although they both boil small animals alive.

I am supporting a great group if you love dogs ( or cats) called No Dogs Left Behind, who stop the huge and inhumane trucks filled with 600-1200 dogs, no water or food for days, crammed in on top of each other so they can barely breathe. They rescue the dogs, vet them and adopt them out.

They are the most well-organized and well-run rescue group I have encountered. And 501c. I have been so impressed - they are bringing in college students as volunteers. The guy running this thing is a genius and just may shut down eating pets in China in our lifetime. He also teaches classes in Beijing. I think he is Hungarian but he speaks many languages.
