Sounds like the homeowner - an Army veteran who served in Vietnam - had handled his business, shooting and killing an intruder who had broken into his home and had apparently already harmed a child in the house. Then the police showed up and shot the homeowner.

I have been saying for many years: The police are not our friends. I was ahead of the curve.

I am a lifelong conservative who has worked in ministry or on staff in two church denominations.

I have never been drunk or drugged. I was called The Straight One in my youth: a term of contempt bestowed upon me by a stoner and robber.

I was taught to respect the police by my highly conservative parents. I learned in my twenties that the police were as dangerous to the lawful as to the criminal. I learned it both firsthand by experience and secondhand by observation.

Case in point: San Jose Convention Center. It matters nothing if any of those individual tax-paid bullies vote Republican; they betrayed and endangered law-abiding citizens in following orders given by de facto communists.

The police departments are composed of unionized government employees, and that makes their milieu as a whole inherently collectivist and tyrannical.

Avoid interacting with the police whenever possible. Do not answer their questions without an attorney. (Someone should have told General Flynn that.)

It is unfortunate but we are now in a de facto police state, where, for example, somalis are being put on police forces because of diversity policies, who then shoot and kill first. I agree with you that unionized police workforces act as a collective, which makes them dangerous to all, not just the criminal class.

Police are taught to reload and holster their weapon after using it. How do you know that another criminal won't attack from hiding, after you stop the first one?

Police can search the room that you're in, too, if they have grounds for an arrest. They might take the liberty of searching the whole house and confiscate all weapons. Then, criminal relatives or friends of the attacker might have an unsecured environment to invade, unless you quickly purchase another weapon after bailing.

The commie media will say that the homeowner should have let the “authorities” handle it in the first place. That way the intruder would have killed you by the time the fuzz got there and if they happen to kill or injure the intruder they could be suied. Which is what I hope happens anyway.

Yes, according to this report the officer was outside when he fired the fatal shot at the homeowner.

Yes, I do think about if there are other criminals in the house. I would not stand down until I was sure I was secure in my house. However, hearing police sirens coming to the house, I would be very worried about friendly fire.

Yes, I do think about the police finding the weapon and then searching the house. But there is little or nothing I can do about those situations.

Blackout conditions would be appropriate then. Keep all blinds and curtains closed. Another good idea might be to install heavy, steel doors and run threaded rods from the door frames through several studs on both sides and fasten them to every structural that they penetrate. And glue all of the structurals to the sheeting. ...and fill the walls with gravel around the doors. ...and install rock or ceramic veneer on the outside of the walls. ...and cameras...lots of cameras with auto-feeds to the Net. ...and laminated glass in all of the windows. ...and remotely activated, outfacing emergency lighting all around the house. ...and a loud public address system with outfacing loudspeakers. ...and a foyer with remotely activated inner and outer doors and an intercom to conduct a lengthy interview with *them* before opening an inner or outer door of your choice.

Those are consequences in the near future of us-against-them public policies in a country that's an addition to the third world.
