(CNN) - "Our democracy itself is in the crosshairs."
So said Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, flanked by Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats, the national security adviser John Bolton and FBI Director Christopher Wray at the White House Thursday, warning that Russia is actively attacking our elections.
Now if only someone would tell President Donald Trump. Also missing in action: Congress and badly needed funding for election security.
Let's start with the President. We've all seen his odd, repeated reluctance to criticize Russian President Vladimir Putin and his impulse to take Russia's word about election interference over our own intelligence agencies. Last month, Trump reluctantly said he accepted the intelligence community's conclusion on Russian meddling, though he added, "it could be other people also."
Thursday night, Trump again undercut his administration's carefully calibrated united front, dismissing the "Russian hoax" at a rally in Pennsylvania. This disconnect is disturbing. And because tone comes from the top, it has muddied our nation's response to date.

Ok . I have had it with this crap. Someone, ANYONE. Describe in objective elements exactly what “Russian meddling” is. Be very specific. I dont want conclusions . I want actual facts as to the technique used specifically by the Russians that are such a grave threat to our beloved democracy. This is the biggest pile of horse dung I have ever seen.

Would election security also include verification of legal voters...not ID if it is not verification of citizenship.

Russian meddling consists of the alleged hacking of John Podesta's email showing that the DNC actively sabotaged Bernie Sanders' primary campaign as well as alleged Russian trolling of social media sites posting footage from the 1990s of Hillary Clinton's unflattering comments about black criminals ("Bring them to heel.").
This is what Democrats believe that Trump voters need to be outraged about.

CNN lies. Trump called out Russian Oleg Deripaska and pals, even imposing official sanctions on them by name. CNN won’t report that because Deripaska is also pals with CNN favorite RINOs John McCain and Bob Dole.
Trump is a showman. In the back of my head there are thoughts that he will have an epic October Surprise waiting for the dems. I keep wondering if he is about ready to unload a pile so large that there is no way the dems or the media can recover. It could all be wishful thinking on my part but a boy can dream.
