Kentucky Secretary of State Jokes About Rand Paul Being Assaulted
Washington Free Beacon ^ | August 6, 2018 | Conor Beck

Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes (D.) said Friday that Sen. Rand Paul (R.) "can be beaten," "just ask his neighbor."

Grimes made the comment at Kentucky's Fancy Farm picnic, which serves as a start to the state's campaign season for both parties, the Associated Press reports.

She said at the Democrats' traditional bean supper, "many folks think that Rand Paul can't be beat. I don't buy that. Just ask his neighbor. He can be beaten."

Grimes was referring to a November attack on Paul by his neighbor that left him with five rib fractures, including three displaced fractures.

After the attack, Paul also bled from cuts around his mouth and had difficulty breathing.

As for being beaten in an election, Paul first ran and was first elected to the Senate in 2010. He subsequently won his re-election race in 2016.

Doug Stafford, Paul's chief strategist, called Grimes' remarks "almost as sad and pathetic as her last campaign."

Nothing says funny like a violent assault leaving someone with potentially life threatening injuries.

Grimes also treated those at the picnic with these tasteful remarks: "It is so sad, like many men, [McConnell] suffers from premature confirmation, and like a man, he claims it never happens to him."

Would be big news if a Republican joked about a Democrat being assaulted. What do you want to bet this doesn’t make the MSM?

How many Dems in Kentucky, or DC, will be asked to disavow this statement? Waiting, waiting, .....

Big deal. Trump could have easily made the same joke and we’d be laughing about it. People need to get a sense of humor, she obviously was making a play on words and not suggesting violence.

Yeah, sorry - must be my lack of a sense of humor not finding someone suffering very painful, life threatening injuries from an unprovoked violent assault a real knee slapper.

If a Republican said something like this it would be wall to wall coverage with demands that they resign.

Poor taste but I am tired of the “gotcha” moments being used to attack.

I don’t disagree with you, but they do it to us, and are amplified by their allies in the media, all the time. They deserve a taste of their own medicine.

The Fancy Farm picnic has a tendency to get a bit sporty when the politicians start stumping. Not saying it’s ok, and I don’t remember anyone joking about assault at the picnic before, but it’s the sort of thing that is not surprising from that particular event.

Allison Lundergen Grimes is an Obama bootlicker of the highest order and her last Senate campaign was, in fact, pathetic. If it weren’t for old retired yellow dog Dems in the state she wouldn’t even have won state office.

Further evidence that Kentuckians are just as dumb as anyone else. A disgusting ideology means nothing when a pretty face shows up to the party.

Sounds like this ceckless funt needs the baby Harp seal cure.

Perhaps one of her constituents could help her out with that...

”Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes (D.) said Friday that Sen. Rand Paul (R.) "can be beaten," "just ask his neighbor."

So she’s happy Rand Paul was assaulted, resulting in five broken ribs? Well... in that case, I hope she is gang-raped by an MS-13 gang.

They’re quite evil, these Democrats. Mentally their just clever little children reveling in the pain and destruction of those who don’t give them what they want.
