If there’s any lesson to come out of the Middle East, it’s that secular dictators, however horrid, are usually preferable to Islamic theocracies when it comes to ruling Arab Muslims.

I think moderate monarchies, such as Jordan or Morocco, are even better than secular dictatorships. The monarchs are usually pro-Western, the dictators are usually pro-Russian (pro-Soviet in the past).

Didn’t know I needed to put a /sarc on it.

That's OK. This is Free Republic. Ask a question (even if it's implied or sarcastic) and it generally gets answered. Sort of like Alexa without the annoying voice (and a far higher accuracy rate). But in general, a "/s" never hurts.

Aziz Asbar, was asked by his evil jihadi kindergarten teacher, “What do you want to be when you grow up Aziz?”

He replied, “a rocket scientist.”

Immediately following his beating he said, “I want to be a martyr for mohammerhead.”

It was the will of Allah (piss be upon him) that Aziz has achieved both of his childhood dreams... 8O)

You’re right, but what does that leave us? Morocco, Jordan, and the Emirates. Egypt, Iraq, Libya, and Iran were moderate monarchies once.

Asbar was killed along with his driver near the research center, which lies in the town of Masyaf and has long been believed to host chemical weapons development. The center has twice been the target of Israeli air attacks in the last year and Asbar himself had previously avoided two Israeli assassination attempts.

Masyaf is also a place thought to be where Iraq's WMDs were taken in 2003: Several years ago, a military base near Masyaf was mentioned as a possible hiding place for weapons of mass destruction that Saddam Hussein might have sent to Syria before the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003.-------- Possible Syrian nuke facility identified by satellite Jerusalem Post [Israel] ^ | 12/2/10 | Yaakov Katz

The prominent rocket scientist, who reportedly had his own security detail, regularly met with senior Syrian and Iranian government and military officials, including major general Qassim Suleimani, the commander of Iran’s Quds force who has led Tehran’s efforts to prop up Syrian president Bashar al-Assad’s brutally repressive government.

Well, Trump took care of Soleimani so he's now worm food
