Ted Cruz asks Trump to campaign for him in Texas

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz has asked President Donald Trump to come to Texas to campaign for him.

During a campaign stop in Seguin late Monday, Cruz said he has reached out to his former rival for the White House to help him with his re-election effort against Democrat Beto O’Rourke.

“I would certainly welcome his support and I hope to see him in Texas,” Cruz said, standing outside the Dixie Grill in Seguin. “I think we are likely to see the president down in Texas before the election.”

Cruz said while his relationship with Trump has had its “ups and downs” due to their 2016 GOP primary battle, he has tried to become an ally to the President. He said he has been in constant contact with the White House and Trump directly to offer his help in getting legislation through the Senate.

I think President Trump will be glad to help.

Here it comes...the standard rampage about how bad Cruz is, Lyin’ Ted, Candadian Ted, all of it. No mention of Ted Cruz can be tolerated without the usual suspects flaming him for the unpardonable sin of having run against Donald Trump in the primaries.

I hope the conservative circular firing squad has stopped shooting, and that Trump helps Cruz.

No I think it was Cruz not endorsing him even after the President gave him a prime speaking spot at the convention. What an ass. Anyway, he needs to be in the Senate.

The things I hate most here are the Cruz bashers and the people who give us Arizonans a fit about voting the Rino party line, then demand that we vote the Rino party line....

Ted Cruz asks Trump to campaign for him in Texas

We've known each other many years, but this is the first time you ever came to me for counsel or for help. I can't remember the last time that you invited me to your house for a cup of coffee.

But let's be frank here. You never wanted my friendship. And you were afraid to be in my debt.

Ted Cruz is a Deep State swamp critter! Just why should Trump help him?

There, I said it, maybe I’m the first one of the circular firing squad to trash Cruz. I’m being sarcastic because I agree with previous posters, the real circular firing squad will soon appear.

We need unity. Cruz is not a bad person. Compared to real swampsters like McCain, Cruz really stands out as a good guy.

“Would you be supportive of President Trump if he ran for reelection in 2020?”

Cruz replied, “I certainly assume so.”

IMHO, when it comes to this kind of thing, we need to be just like the RATs and support our guy no matter how bad. That’s what they do, and we need to the same in this case. Sure, he has made some mistakes, faults, but who to heck hasn’t. And he’s waaaaaay better than having a stinking commie RAT in Texas.

“Cruz or Lose” was quite popular here once upon a time.

His behavior at the Republican Convention is when he lost me...of course I don’t live in TX and if I did I would vote for him for sure I just wouldn’t be happy about it. Thought and still do that he was a jackwagon at the convention.

Yep, he lost big and then turned around kicked Trump in the teeth. If I were Trump I would not turn my back on this guy.

I hope Cruz is the next nominee after Kavanaugh. I can’t think of anyone better suited for that court.

From the Godfather.

But Vito Corleone still helped him.

I don’t think President Trump will act like that.

Well, I guess if President Trump can endorse Dean Heller, he might endorse Cruz.
