If We Don’t Ban Fortune Tellers, We Shouldn’t Ban ‘Gay Conversion Therapy’
The Federalist ^ | August 7th 2018 | Chad Felix Greene

When the topic of “conversion” or “ex-gay” therapy comes up, it invokes images of sad, lonely, and desperate gay men and women praying to cease being who they are. It can conjure the image of a domineering religious figure shouting to the heavens of hell and demons over a terrified child.

Others, especially in the LGBT media, revel in the anticipation of catching well-known ex-gays in sexually compromising positions. But for the most part, the practice seems like a relic from another time, and only a small number of the religiously devout ever encounter it. In 2014, only 8 percent of Americans believed the therapy was effective.

LGBT advocacy groups, however, have for many years fixated on the practice as a foundational threat to LGBT young people and have sought to ban it nationwide. Recently the Washington Post published a detailed history of the practice. The article argues that conversion therapy is essentially a civil rights issue, going so far as to claim its existence threatens American LGBT people’s citizenship: “Americans cannot be fully equal members of society so long as a practice exists that aims to convert them — implying that there is something wrong with being LGBTQ.”

In 2012, California became the first state to ban the practice on minors, and 11 other states have followed suit. Most recently, New Hampshire sent a bill banning the practice to the governor to sign. The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) activist group celebrated with a tweet stating, “Children across the Granite State deserve to live their lives authentically and should never be subjected to the abusive practice of so-called conversion therapy.” Most leading medical organizations oppose the practice and have endorsed the Therapeutic Fraud Prevention Act, which would make “conversion therapy” illegal nationwide.

We know that the male brain is wired to be visually stimulated, so looking at women is very natural. But, society tells him to stop it, even when the woman he is staring at is wearing skin-tight clothing and has plenty of breast sticking out. Society tells him that he has a problem if he can’t curb that urge to see more of a woman that is putting it out on display.

But, if a man like to have sex with other men and you suggest that he just stop it, then you are a monster!

Once the homos have groomed and recruited a kid, they don’t want to lose him. So they rig the law to prevent it. All this does is doom a bunch of kids to a choice between suicide and a lifetime of buggery.

Well my gay fortune teller told me her fortune that her gayness would be banned but her fortune telling would not — and then she said that her fortune telling was related to her gayness and if her gayness was banned then her fortune telling would be banned. But she said if her fortune telling was banned or wasn’t banned then her gayness was not affected. And then to make matters even worse she said to bet on “Lucky Seven” at the track and I lost a bundle.

homosexuality has been encouraged and even required by the radical left for 50 years. It was there in NOW, it was there in the Weather Underground. It was there in Jim Jones’ Peoples’ Temple.

MARXIST FEMINISM’S RUINED LIVES
The horror I witnessed inside the women’s “liberation” movement.
September 1, 2014 Mallory Millett

And so began my period as an unwitting witness to history. I stayed with Kate and her lovable Japanese husband, Fumio, in a dilapidated loft on The Bowery as she finished her first book, a PhD thesis for Columbia University, “Sexual Politics.”

It was 1969. Kate invited me to join her for a gathering at the home of her friend, Lila Karp. They called the assemblage a “consciousness-raising-group,” a typical communist exercise, something practiced in Maoist China. We gathered at a large table as the chairperson opened the meeting with a back-and-forth recitation, like a Litany, a type of prayer done in Catholic Church. But now it was Marxism, the Church of the Left, mimicking religious practice:

“Why are we here today?” she asked.
“To make revolution,” they answered.
“What kind of revolution?” she replied.
“The Cultural Revolution,” they chanted.
“And how do we make Cultural Revolution?” she demanded.
“By destroying the American family!” they answered.
“How do we destroy the family?” she came back.
“By destroying the American Patriarch,” they cried exuberantly.
“And how do we destroy the American Patriarch?” she replied.
“By taking away his power!”
“How do we do that?”
“By destroying monogamy!” they shouted.
“How can we destroy monogamy?”

Their answer left me dumbstruck, breathless, disbelieving my ears. Was I on planet earth? Who were these people?

“By promoting promiscuity, eroticism, prostitution and homosexuality!” they resounded.

They proceeded with a long discussion on how to advance these goals by establishing The National Organization of Women. It was clear they desired nothing less than the utter deconstruction of Western society. The upshot was that the only way to do this was “to invade every American institution. Every one must be permeated with ‘The Revolution’”: The media, the educational system, universities, high schools, K-12, school boards, etc.; then, the judiciary, the legislatures, the executive branches and even the library system.

It fell on my ears as a ludicrous scheme, as if they were a band of highly imaginative children planning a Brinks robbery; a lark trumped up on a snowy night amongst a group of spoiled brats over booze and hashish.

No Regrets for a Love Of Explosives; In a Memoir of Sorts, a War Protester Talks of Life With the Weathermen

He also writes about the Weathermen’s sexual experimentation as they tried to ‘’smash monogamy.’’ The Weathermen were ‘’an army of lovers,’’ he says, and describes having had different sexual partners, including his best male friend.

There was room for this because the society was forgetting God.

I don’t blame any government move for the forgetting of God. Not the end of formal school prayers or any other such thing. Because there would have been no room for desiring such things if people had not been forgetting God in the first place.

And so, Satan was raised for a season, or several seasons.

The only way to fight Satan has remained what it always was. It wasn’t mere namby-pamby “values.” Values are a fruit; values are not a root. God is the root of goodness, always was, always will be.

Mark my words, a revival is coming. The Spirit to stir it up is already tangible. If an amateur, even oafish duffer like me can preach, imagine what the better qualified will be able to do.

Come on, this is very common, to talk back to agents cited. Why are you taking this offense. You could simply agree that these villains should be addressed in that manner.

When the topic of “conversion” or “ex-gay” therapy comes up, it invokes images of sad, lonely, and desperate gay men and women praying to cease being who they are.

Invokes it to whom?

The approach of "pray the gay away" is misleading in isolation. It's far more "pray the straight in." Avoiding the sin is helpful and the better it is avoided the more helpful it is, but the conquest is in building and setting up a stronger entity. God can rebuild the cities of our minds even under great siege and repeated petty incursions. Sooner or later the city is ready to be ruled by the King and then the battle turns decisively.

Now some moderator removed my post. Is everyone stupid tonight and can’t see that I was making a comparison between what is normal and yet deemed unacceptable to what is a perversion and deemed a thing to celebrate.

Sounds like a silly misunderstanding. If this is the worst we ever see when fighting the devil, we are in shape to grin from ear to ear. Let it be about God and truth. It’s much more about God than it ever is about us.

By the way, the fortune tellers are basically, as far as civic affairs are concerned, “a supernatural enterprise.” Why not let those who want to engage in a supernatural enterprise do so, is the author’s thesis. Christians may have other reasons to object to fortune tellers, but not simply because it’s supernatural. Christians do supernatural things daily, as the faith is rightly understood.

Sorry, but it’s really not about your God for me. Bramps misquoted me and then got my post pulled to make me look like I was defending homosexuality. That’s not “Christian”, is it?
