it’s much worse. Fire size doubled last night and the winds, now blowing east, southeast are driving fire down towards the valley floor. Bulldozers and water trucks are being pre-positioned at housing development on the hills of north Elsinore. We saw many families evacuating. Entry is now restricted. Heavy ash and smoke in d/t Elsinore. We saw 8 more engines heading into Elsinore on Central, maybe fresh off the freeway.
Evacuation center is open on the east side of 1-15. Central Avenue go east and follow the signs (turn left at Burger King towards Lowes and follow the signs, and if traffic is tight there at the light, go one more light and turn left towards Chilis/Costco and track back thru the parking lot)
I feel for you. I’m at the OC end of the SA Canyon and all we’ve had is small ash fall and the smell of smoke. I was surprised that there’s much left to burn what with the Canyon 1 and Canyon 2 fires last fall but then this one is in that big region to the south. We could use some rain.
