I don’t recall her escaping.
IIRC, she was in the guillotine and the earthquake hit and she was left there all alone, saying she’d take the mark and for someone to help.

I thought she somehow rolled out of hit because she got free. Been too long. I’ve only seen the first movie and maybe the third(? IIRC).
