Never thought about it before, but I now notice there are four emblems with anchors. Says a lot about our history.

..... Still cant figure out why we need a Space Force when we already have the Air Forces Space Command which was founded in 1982.
Instead of creating a new bureaucracy I would roll it within the Air Force. Manned aircraft is on a downward trend anyway. So, the Air Force could create a new division within the Air Force similar to the Navys Submarine Force. Anyway, thats my two bits, we dont need a whole bunch of new generals, star fleet commanders, etc.

That is what it is really about Cowboy - War FROM space, not war IN Space.

Probably for the same reason we branched out with a separate “Air Force” in 1947, when we already had the United States Army Air Force.

" .... the Air Force could create a new division within the Air Force similar to the Navys Submarine Force."... Like I said .... The Air Force already has "Space Command" founded in 1982 which has Space as their jurisdiction ....
