Before becoming LAPD chief, Moore retired, collected a $1.27-million payout, then was rehired

Before Michel Moore was promoted to become the Los Angeles Police Department’s new chief in June, he took a brief, highly unusual retirement.

He left as chief of operations for only a few weeks before rejoining the force in the same job at the same pay. But the move provided him with a financial windfall: a lump sum retirement payment of $1.27 million from the city.

Embezzlement of public funds is just fine when public employees approve the embezzlement.

As no city budget in California is permitted to carry ANY debt which is not in the form of bonds through measures approved by the voters, unpaid retirement or benefits also is not permitted, except that public employees say it is, so thus more and more of municipal (and county) budgets are determined by city councils and boards of supervisors, sometimes decades in the past.

Because you can always promise some of a budget you don’t have to make and certainly don’t have to come up with the cash for it.

And it’s just okay, because public employees have approved it. Mind you, they’ll come with guns to your house to take it if you fail to pay for the property tax, special district, and other extra taxes they pump out to pay for those sometimes decades old decisions...

The left is going to have an anniversary of Charlottesville every year for the next hundred years. They turned it into a condemnation of Trump as racist. It was staged.

“Moore said he was as shocked as everyone else when Beck announced his pending retirement.”

When you can fake sincerity, you’ve got it made!

I’ve watched a succession of FF’s rise to becoming chief in our little Fire District a year or two before they can retire (@age 50). Each one of them walks away with huge windfall retirement benes and lifelong healthcare for themselves and their families. If each of them lives to be 80, they will have “consumed” about $10 million each in taxpayer money just on their pension benefits alone!

But there are no DIRECT victims so no one cares. If tax payers were sent a special bill for the lump sum payment and pension, they would be all out there with pitchforks. But it is hidden in their property tax bill, so no one cares.

They've been doing the Chicago Haymarket riots since 1886 so that sounds about right.

One day when there just arent enough taxes or govt effectively loses ability to collect there are going to be millions of former gov’t employees learning the hard way what those of us in the private (productive) sector already know....when the money is gone its gone

I almoat kinda look forward to that day and the end to the idea that 20 years working for govt entitles you to other people’s money for the rest of your life

I just hope I live long enough to see California go bankrupt and all these bloodsuckers find out that “their pot at the end of the rainbow” is now full of just IOUs.
I know personally, “public servants” who are rabid about how their “contributions to society,” are of such value, that their pensions are inviolate, and taxes must be raised, in necessary, to carry them to their graves in the style to which we allowed them to become accustomed.

This is a perfect example of why leftists want to take over government at all levels. Once they do, they then steal from the people.

We must fight back and stop leftists at all levels.
