Plus, I think that to hired into the USFS in today’s world, and perhaps for the last 30 years, one had to demonstrate that he/she is afflicted with a subliminal, pyro-manical disease.

Weren’t these fires ignited and started by a mental patient, wasn’t this arson?

When I worked as a summer hire for what was then the California Division of Forestry, commercial tree farmers would plant 7 trees for every one they cut down. That was 45 years ago. I’m sure similar practices are followed today.
