Former “Apprentice” contestant Omarosa Manigault Newman revealed another taped White House conversation in which President Trump appeared to express surprise that she had been fired from his administration.
“Omarosa? Omarosa what’s going on? I just saw on the news that you’re thinking about leaving? What happened?” Trump says on the tape played on NBC’s “Today” show Monday.
“General Kelly – General Kelly came to me and said that you guys wanted me to leave,” Newman said on the tape, referring to White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, a retired Marine general.
“No … I, I, Nobody even told me about it,” the president responds.
“Wow,” she replies on the recording, which she says she taped after she was fired in December 2017

It depends if you are in a two party or one party State in this regard. In a one party state as long as one party to the conversation consents (the taper) it's legal. In two party states both parties to the conversation must consent or its illegal.
That she would ask to talk to the President....obviously to change the firing to not fired....she's da ignorant.
Now he said he didn't know she was fired. But I'll bet he knew it was LIKELY coming and had given Kelly "full authority".
When was it that the White House told employees....NO CELLPHONES OR RECORDING DEVICES" in the Whitehouse?

It’s legal. DC is one party consent.
However the tape of the firing may have been recorded in the WH Situation Rooom which is an SCIF. Recording things in that room is...not legal.

General Kelly’s taped remarks were like a Father giving advice to a wayward teen, he was attempting to direct her in a sensible direction.

With her history to taking conversations, I doubt even THEY are crazy enough to touch her. [And maybe especially not them, with the rampant examples of sexual harassment in the New business] You’d have to pat her down every time she walks into a room.
