Vy brother in law is high and dry but said "red alerts'" are throughout the area and floods everywhere continuing.
Used to frequent up that way; northern side of the Allegheny rolls through some pretty lowland territory. Place called Eldred gets it good every time it rises high.
Tons of the stuff and just enough sun to make the grass grow about 2" per day .. oy vey

Prayers up, I just watched the footage on the weather channel. Looks hellacious.
If we do get a tropical storm or remnants of hurricane running up the coast, there could be some incredible flooding in these parts.
We all can join together and help stop these devastating floods. Won’t you please join me? Please send $100.00 in cash to:

Prayers for those folks. We were on a road trip and got off the freeway to take a back road. Looking for local eats and a more scenic drive. The diner and the Dairy Queen had been wiped out by a flood in the narrow river bottom - West Virgina. They were still moving piles of mud out of one of the lanes of the road.
We ended up at a local church where they had a bunch of supplies for the locals and organizing the recovery. Several folks had died as well. (We did get some food - the pastor and his helpers gave us some hotdogs that they were cooking up for the volunteers!)
We gave them a decent donation. It was really amazing to see this small church (also flooded) organize things. They had a big pole barn on higher ground that they cleaned out first, and had all sorts of supplies that were coming in stored there (food, clothing, cleaning supplies, etc.)
The pastor pointed out group of trees about a foot in diameter. About 30 feet up they were all broken off. “So the water came down off the hill in that little gully up there across the road. (Rocky road cut that made a cliff). Water came shooting out of that gully and over the top of the road - and sheared those trees of way up there!” I’m guessing the trees were 40 feet from the edge of the cliff on the other side of the road!
Those idiot rafters were found alive.
