A Houston Tex-Mex restaurant has shut down its social media accounts after receiving insults and death threats for posting a picture of executive chef Domenic Laurenzo with U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
KHOU11, a CBS affiliate, reported the restaurant posted the photo Friday and wrote that it was an honor to serve the attorney general, thanking him for allowing us to serve you.
The Tex-Mex eatery was immediately hit with criticism online. Some called for a boycott of the restaurant and Laurenzo told KHOU that he received death threats.
Laurenzo told KHOU that the response was entirely unexpected. We didnt think we were doing something wrong. We didnt have any idea this was going to happen, he said.
Laurenzo said he and Sessions talked about fajitas. He added that the restaurant treated him like any other guest.
Laurenzo responded to the backlash shortly after it began.
According to the Houstons Culture Map, he quickly deleted the original post and wrote that the picture does not represent us supporting (Sessions) positions.
He also alluded to the Trump administrations controversial zero tolerance policy at the border, which earlier this summer had separated parents from their children and created a huge controversy.
We dont approve of anyone separating parents and children, Laurenzo said.
The online criticism of the restaurant continued until it shut down its social media accounts.
People are insulting us in such a dramatic fashion, and we feel like we dont deserve it, Laurenzo told ABC13, At least temporarily I had it taken down because I dont want to be insulted, my children to be insulted, my family to be insulted.
Click2Houston reports that Laurenzo apologized for the post, writing, The last thing I ever wanted to do was to upset everybody.
How dare Republicans eat!
Another virtue signalling moron wilts in the heat
Did everyone doze off after seeing him?
What is the Democrats’s position on online bullying?
What a shame he apologized for the post rather than standing firm. It gives the “anti-bullying” left more power.
Not this (fill in the blank) again....
So the bottom line, , is that you have to be liberal, to go in a restaurant anymore??????
AG Sessions looks wide awake in the photo.
Death threats against a Lantino businessman. Bet SPLC doesn’t ding the Democrat Socialist groups for militant terrorist threats.
Pro.
Early bird special dining...
The owner ought to contact the Texas Rangers about death threats.
“”””””””””””We dont approve of anyone separating parents and children, Laurenzo said. “”””””””””””
I don’t know how to break the news to him but you will not find a jail or prison in the USA that has a daycare in it. When you get arrested you cannot bring your kids with you.
Shocking, right?
He ought to follow up with the Secret Service. They did a security sweep before Sessions entered.
This won’t be the only such incident in the coming years, best to know who the Rat callers are.
Absolutely not! The owner does not want parents separated from their kids. If he reports the death threats, someone could get arrested and possibly separated.
Had he not wilted, I would have made an effort to eat there on my next visit to Houston. Why couldn't he have acted like President Trump, who doesn't wilt or cave?
So once again we get to see how leftists react to something as simple as eating a meal.
And we sit behind our key boards and lament our displeasure. We don’t fight back and show support for these people. We can’t be bothered. It’s such a shame.
I’m doing my part. I’m flipping them off as I type this.
This is Houston, where the former mayor Anus Porker made threats against pastors who opposed the gay agenda in the city and subpoenaed their sermons.
