I would say it differently, perhaps they realize a swath of the various traditional DNC coalitions ( including LGBT entrepreneurs etc that are part of the "walking away" movement ) are "walking away". The various pie slices that make up there pie are getting smaller and smaller and they realize they are not competitive anymore. This is part of their lack of getting over her loss, doing the 5 stages of grief and never kicking Bill Clinton to the curb for his behavior w/ Monica.
