Those military personnel and military equipment used in the parade are paid whether in parade or sitting in barracks.
Fake news!

Those military personnel and military equipment used in the parade are paid whether in parade or sitting in barracks. But there are costs involved in getting them from their assigned duty station to D.C. and then feeding and housing them for the duration of the set up, the practices, etc. plus the parade. Surprised they didn't think of that to begin with.

There will be massive local economic benefits from this, like the inauguration. Hotels, restaurants, cabs, air fare.
Might well pay for itself.

When they sit in barracks there is no transportation or logistics involved, when equipment sits on the ground on bases there is no fuel, labor or transportation costs. When aircraft sit on the ground there are no fuel or labor costs, and that doesn't even take into account the wear and tear and accelerated maintenance costs. But hey why let facts get in the way.
This article is all Bolshevik anyway since there has been no further mention of a huge symbolic parade by Trump in lord knows how long, as a matter of fact the hostile media is are the only ones keeping this story alive.

Tourism of people coming to DC will make up for any cost—This is great PR for the nation. Like the old Soviet Union, should use it to show off new weapons, rockets, flyover of new experimental warplanes, etc...A patriotic bash like other nations have.
