The more we spend, the worse it gets.
New York City will be spending $2.06 billion on its Department of Homeless Services. There are 61,421 homeless people in the city which is spending $33,539 per homeless person.
Thats only a little short of the starting salary of an FDNY firefighter at $39,000.
More money will be spent on the homeless than on the firefighters who save New Yorkers from burning buildings. The FDNY will have to make do with $2.04 billion, and the health department with $1.6 billion. Thats impressive for DHS, a department that was only created in 1993 by the disgraced Dinkins administration and is now burning through more cash than agencies fulfilling actual vital city functions.
Two years ago, DHS had over 2,600 employees. Thats 1 employee to every 23 homeless people. Meanwhile 234 New Yorkers get only 1 police officer to serve and protect them from criminals.

The homeless crisis is a billion dollar scam. It isnt being solved. Its only getting worse.
And them both the homeless people - and the city workers “serving” them vote Democrat to keep the gravy train rolling.
Wow. Liberals wasting money. This one is breath-taking in its scope. Wheres Clinton?
The only solution to the problem is to elect a democrat president - then the whole crisis magically disappears.
My takeaway is that I’m shocked a firefighter can live in NYC and only make $39k a year. The cost of living there must be ridiculously low.
In America when something is profitable it grows and grows.
Everybody hates Bill de Blasio.
Papa Smurf says,
Bill de Blasio? I hate that son-of-a-bitch! Id like to choke him until he turns blue!

You're right... the press doesn't cover 'homelessness' when a democrat is President because it might reflect badly on 'their team'... one more side benefit for democrats who own the corrupt press... (see tag)
