The Fort Worth Independent School District signaled this week that national anthem protest guidelines for student athletes who want to “take a knee” may be on the way this high school football season. On Tuesday, Todd Vesely, the school district’s new athletic director, told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram he discussed national anthem protests with Fort Worth ISD coaches. He said they were formulating a “game plan.”

Vesely shared no specific details. He said Fort Worth ISD’s potential guidelines would be “proactive and positive” to do “everything we can for our young people to express themselves in a non-disruptive way.”

The "game plan" needs to be, you kneel or disrespect the anthem or flag, you're off the team.

Easy.

I am going to give a little benefit of the doubt to the coaches and assume that those who kneel will not get the same amount of playing time that they otherwise might.

I hope I am right.

I have the best game plan. Do away with government schools. Let people choose what schools they want for their kids, and if they want a bunch of kneelers on their football team, have at it.

As long as there are government schools, there will be a fight over what is taught and policies.

If I were the coach, I would tell the kids that they have the First Amendment right to express themselves but that is no guarantee that there will not be consequences. I would not specify the consequence or even guarantee that there would be one, but anyone who took a knee would get zero playing time for the rest of high school. That's just how it would work out - I'd send in the water boy before playing a first string quarterback who insulted our flag, our anthem, our military, our country, and our ancestors. The lesson that actions have serious, lasting consequences is more valuable than whatever these disgusting losers would gain from their time on the field - I would be doing the baby thug a favor by benching him.

Fort Worth used to be the conservative alternative to liberal Dallas.

This is the work of the pukes who run the government schools. They want to do “everything we can for our young people to express themselves in a non-disruptive way.” Let the kids kneel down and pray to Jesus. You will see how fast they can act to discipline students.
