GOP buys New York governor a bus ticket to Canada after he said America 'was never that great'

Republicans reportedly purchased a bus ticket for New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) to go to Canada after he said that America "was never that great” at an event earlier this week.
The Associated Press reported on Thursday that the state's Republican Party bought a $55 one-way ticket for the New York Democrat to go to Montreal after his controversial remarks on Wednesday.
According to the publication, the ticket is only valid until Friday.
The report comes just days after Cuomo said at a Manhattan event that America "was never that great."
The governor made the remarks in reference to President Trump's popular slogan: “Make America great again," suggesting it was backward-looking.
Cuomo has drawn criticism from both of his Democratic and Republican opponents for the remark as he faces reelection for a third term in November.
Trump also hit back at the governor for his remarks on Wednesday, saying on Twitter that Cuomo was “having a total meltdown.
“'WE’RE NOT GONG TO MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, IT WAS NEVER THAT GREAT,'" Trump tweeted. "Can you believe this is the Governor of the Highest Taxed State in the U.S., Andrew Cuomo, having a total meltdown!"

BTW, in the state park near me, Governor Cuomo continues to put up signs with his name on them everywhere he can. No other governor has done this, at least since his father was in office.
