he Defence Department said Thursday that the Veterans Day military parade ordered up by U.S. President Donald Trump wont happen in 2018.
Col. Rob Manning, a Pentagon spokesman, said the military and the White House have now agreed to explore opportunities in 2019.
The announcement came several hours after The Associated Press reported that the parade would cost about $92-million, according to U.S. officials citing preliminary estimates more than three times the price first suggested by the White House.
According to the officials, roughly $50-million would cover Pentagon costs for aircraft, equipment, personnel and other support for the November parade in Washington. The remainder would be borne by other agencies and largely involve security costs. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss early planning estimates that have not yet been finalized or released publicly.

Q
Cancelled parade ping
Fire the generals and civilian Pentagon workers that buried this in costs. No way such a parade should cost that much unless they are trying to bring people and equipment from all over the world. Ridiculous.
It’ll happen soon enough. It’s the lefties that can’t handle it so throw them a bone.
I think this parade should be a mix of professionalism and fun. Theres no reason we cant endear Americans even more to the military.
Its refreshing that the Trump administration knows that money is money and not monopoly money. Barry Hussein never looked at a budget sheet in his life and spent our grand children into irreversible debt.
Feel free to keep your QQ for cocoa puffs nonsense in the FR fairy tale forum.
I dont think we have to have so much equipment and weaponry on display necessarily. Let the enemy get a good look at it before it ends them. I want the spotlight on the soldiers themselves. Let people see their faces, their humanity and their skills. They are the real strength of our military.
Right. Bringing in the UN and NATO to make it a fair display of diversity would be very costly.
Good point.
Just in time for his reelection. Demorats and the MSM will go nuts.
Almost half the cost is non-Pentagon.
Cash for Clunkers: $3 billions
Pallets of cash for Iran: $2 billions (plus another $150 billions)
Parade could be paid for by sponsors. Companies would line up to contribute and to get recognition for such. The possibilities are endless.
“QQ for cocoa puffs” LOL, that’s a good one!
We’re going to get Mexico to pay for it.
Exactly. When the boss gives them a project to do, he is not interested in hearing what problems they are having. He wants solutions, not problems.
Instead of one gigantic parade, begin a program to place sizable military units in local parades, including the various Christmas parades around the nation. Use National Guard units to help.
Have every sports event and assembly of any kind begin by a mass singing of the National Anthem by all present.

So did Q post this BEFORE or AFTER the announcement?
Parading President Trump only in an impressive motorcade with plentiful pomp and circumstance would save $billions$.
