This is government strong arming private business. This goes against the Constitution.

I hope they sue and don’t buckle.

It looks to me like FR’s “Search” function needs work, as I did search this article before posting.

Show me where the Constitution grants private businesses, if an American bank can seriously be called that, a right to a sweetheart government contract?

Good! This needs to happen a lot more.

There are lots of good regional banks out there who don't participate in this kind of bull$#*+. First Commonwealth, here in SW PA, Zions Bank in Utah/ Idaho/ Wyoming and BB&T in Kentucky/ Tennessee/ Virginia are just three good examples.

Citi and BOA are against the 2nd amendment, that's against the Constitution also.

We have a republic, Not a Corporation. If a Corporation uses its leverage to violate the Constitutionsl rights of the individual it is a usurpation of the position of government.

Good to see them bitch slapped and sent to bed hungry.

Sometimes using only one or two words from the title helps.

You are of course referring to New York State strong arming Bank of America and Citibank to tow the line in Governor Cuomo’s anti gun agenda right?

You DO realize that that’s what New York State did I trust? BofA and Citi caved. If its legal for New York state to do this, then its legal for other states to punish the banks for doing it. New York politicians should not get to impose their views on everybody else.

“This is government strong arming private business. This goes against the Constitution.”

The response of the Louisiana Attorney General is correct. We need more of this.

For starters, Citibank and BoA have been attempting to restrict interstate commerce, and restrict constitutional rights, to the harm of the nation.

And I suspect these two companies are colluding to implement a Russian plan to disarm America.

They aren’t taking anything from Citi. They are representing the interests of their citizens, who are paying the taxes.

Are you okay with government funding of hospitals that provide free abortions?

“as I did search this article before posting.”

If I may ask, how did you search? With google or some such thing? Because I always see people say ‘they searched’ but I search and it comes right up.

I use that “Search” box at the very top of...The Free Republic page, and it never fails when I try to search for something.
